After each week's completion, ESPN College Football analyst Cole Cubelic shares his "Sunday SEC takeaways."

Here's what he had to say about LSU's 27-16 loss to Florida.
quote:

LSU: Statistical anomaly of a loss. Outgained, outrushed, doubled TOP, fewer penalties, better on 3rd down...and loss. Slide protection hurt them on off. LG struggled. RBs had a rough day in pass pro. QB moved into pressure a few times. Couple drops. Had some runs going then bailed. Stretch had a chance. New same side counter that was nice. Duo, IZ, but didn't commit. 18 & 29 had feel. ScreenTE had a solid game. 1 made plays. Defense aggressive. 4 had a hell of a day vs run & rushing pass. 0 got good push. 35 played hard. Let QB move around & get ball out. Lost a few 50/50 balls. Stretch & toss hurt them. Played underneath blocks & over pursued. Weird one.

The play calling is usually bad in the RZ now its kust BAD once you cross mid field. The untimely penalties(Lacy costs a TD, False starts/holds to put you into longer FG range etc). Ramos is not. college level FG kicker. HS kids have bigger legs.

Should not have been a loss but here we are. He points out what many say here. We have success with plays and then bail on it.

2nd week in a row he's called out the stretch run having success, then bailing on it.

Lack of a killer instinct hurt in the red zone.
