Despite not taking a single snap in an LSU uniform yet, new transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt is already receiving Heisman Trophy odds (+1600) for the 2026 season.

Leavitt is expected to be the straw that stirs the drink in Lane Kiffin's new offense, and if things go as planned, the former Arizona State passer could be in the mix for the Heisman at the end of the season.

According to Cody Nagel of CBS Sports, the most pivotal game for Leavitt as a Heisman hopeful will be the Alabama matchup on Nov. 7 in Tiger Stadium.

Pivotal game: Alabama (Nov. 7)

Similar to Ohio State, Alabama is the kind of program that draws national attention, and the matchup with the Crimson Tide could fall at a perfect point for LSU and new quarterback Sam Leavitt. Lane Kiffin put everything on the table to bring the Arizona State transfer to Baton Rouge, and a strong performance against Alabama would give Leavitt the signature moment voters remember in a Heisman Trophy campaign.
