During the debut episode of The Brian Kelly Radio Show on Thursday night, coach Kelly announced that cornerback Mansoor Delane will be a starter this season.

Delane, a 6-1 senior from Silver Spring, Md., transferred from Virginia Tech in the offseason and played in 33 games with 29 starts for the Hokies.

He has recorded 146 tackles (82 solo), six interceptions, and 16 pass breakups in his career.

As for the other starting cornerback spot, options include PJ Woodland, Ashton Stamps, and DJ Pickett.

I really think it’s going to be a game changer having not only that skill level in the back field, but a SENIOR back there. He will have the responsibility of being a leader in that back field. If he can deliver on the leadership as well as the skill we might actually start looking more like DBU for the first time in a while.

PJ Woodland would be better because of experience. I'd like Pickett to rotate in and then start next year. Remember 2011 with Mo and Tyrann starting and Tharold Simon as the 6'3 rotational guy?
