The LSU offensive line, specifically left tackle Will Campbell, will be challenged with slowing down Arkansas star edge rusher Landon Jackson on Saturday.

The Texarkana, Texas native originally committed to LSU out of high school in 2021 and played in five games as a true freshman for the Tigers.

He transferred to Arkansas after his freshman year just before Brian Kelly was hired, and has since developed into a potential first-round draft pick with a 6-7, 280-pound frame.

This week, Kelly was asked about going up against the former Tiger:
quote:

"I never met him—he wasn't here—but I can tell you what I see on film. He's got a motor, man," Kelly said. "He just keeps going and going and going. I remember him from last year when we played him."

"I don't want to say he's self-made, but he has really worked for everything, and you respect a player like that."

"His second effort is as good as anybody’s in the league. He just plays with an extra heartbeat, and as coaches, you love watching kids play like that."
Jackson has 23 total tackles this season with 2.5 sacks and four pass deflections. Pro Football Focus ranks him 24th in the nation and fifth in the SEC with 14 quarterback hurries this year.

Seemed like a good kid who wanted to be a Tiger. It didn’t work out here, but wish the best for him after we play.

He's from Texarkana. Closer to family.

He's 20 minutes closer to Fayetteville than Baton Rouge. Don't think closer to home is a reason he left.

Why the heck did this guy transfer to Arkansas? I wish he would have waited it out a little longer. He would have helped our defense out a lot over the last 3 years.
