During his Tuesday press conference, head coach Brian Kelly said Aaron Anderson will remain LSU's starter at punt returner despite some of the issues he had in his debut vs. Florida State.
quote:Kelly added that once Anderson settles in at punt return the natural progression would be to get him more involved in the offense.
"He's going to stay back there," Kelly said. "Look, he needs to catch the football. It's the fundamentals with him: High hands, elbows in, square platform. The stuff we talk about on Day 1."
"He goes back to these old beliefs of 'I'm better than everybody, and I can just do it.' And that just doesn't work. Especially when you have guys running down the field, and they are on you before you know it. And then you make a slight move, and you are off-centered and the ball can squirt out."
"So we just have to get him to be more disciplined and keep working with him. He's a young player. We're not kicking him out of the club."
