Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. announced Tuesday night that he has entered the transfer portal and could be a target for LSU.

Williams was once committed to Lane Kiffin in 2023 when he was the head coach at Ole Miss. He ultimately signed with Washington.

The Chandler, Ariz., native just completed his sophomore season with the Huskies, completing 69.5% of his passes for 3,065 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

LSU has been in search of a transfer quarterback but missed out on Cincinnati's Brendan Sorsby, who is headed to Texas Tech, and is awaiting a decision from Arizona State passer Sam Leavitt, who is making a multi-day visit to LSU this week.

Leavitt, who was at the PMAC with Lane Kiffin on Tuesday, is expected to visit Tennessee later this week.

Williams might be in play for the Tigers, but it could come with backlash, as ESPN's Pete Thamel reports that Williams signed a new deal last week to remain at Washington and could end up in a legal battle if he were to transfer out of the program.
quote:

Williams had signed a contract to return to the Huskies last week, with sources indicating to ESPN's Pete Thamel the deal was near the top of the market. Sources told Thamel that Washington is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to enforce Williams' signed contract.

In addition, the situation has drawn the attention of the Big Ten, sources told Thamel. The conference was vocal in Xavier Lucas' controversial transfer from Wisconsin to Miami last year, supporting the Badgers in trying to enforce the defensive back's contract with the team.
Stay tuned to see how this plays out...

He should have never signed a contract with UW. Now whoever is interested in him will have to worry about a lawsuit that may affect his ability to sign with another school.

5-11 too small for the SEC. Need a QB 6-2 or bigger

I like how you have a better feel for a QB than Lane.

Would be a massive get. Was extremely high on this kid.. super dynamic. Put him in a good offense and the sky is the limit.

You mean the sky is the limit with his asking amount.
