LSU Loses Commitment From Starkville LB Zach Edwards

Three-star inside linebacker Zach Edwards from Starkville, MS announced Tuesday night that he has de-committed from LSU and has reopened his recruitment.

Edwards originally committed to LSU back on March 3, choosing the Tigers over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

The 6-3, 217-pound prospect is rated a three-star prospect on 247 Sports and ESPN, and four-star on Rivals.

The de-commitment gives LSU 18 verbal commits for the class of 2019. The Tigers hold commitments from four-star linebacker Donte Starks and Marcel Brooks.

I remember when his HS teammate decommitted a week after he committed it was said it was just a matter of time before LB Zach Edwards decommitted. So this comes as no surprise that he did that just opens the door and leaves a spot for a better recruit maybe Edna Karr CB Devin Bush a much, much better 4* recruit.

Some of the greatest coaches in history were fired multiple times before hitting their stride and being recognized as great coaches. Very few coaches, in College football and especially in the best conference college football has ever seen, are successful from up the start and end up at the same place for their entire career.

Most kids who commit that far out seem to end up where they committed to, but I agree that enough of them re-open their recruitment to where a verbal a year out from signing day is kinda like “eh”.

Honestly, you have to consider a guy whose home town has another pretty decent SEC football school to be a fairly soft commit. He should go ahead and enjoy the recruiting process and when he is done, there will be a scholarship waiting for him at LSU...maybe.

Oh so you would still go to a school after their coaches made it clear you weren’t part of their plans anymore? And I’m definitely not taking a shot at LSU for going out and getting better guys, but I don’t blame the kid given the circumstances
