Elite five-star running back and major LSU target John Emery from Destrehan, LA announced Thursday afternoon that he has de-committed from Georgia and has reopened his recruitment.

Emery originally committed to the Bulldogs on July 29 and visited LSU on October 13 when the Tigers beat Georgia 36-16. The 5-11, 205-pound prospect from Destrehan HS is rated the No. 1 running back in the country, according to ESPN.

LSU currently has one running back committed for 2019 in four-star prospect Tyrion Davis from Southern Lab in Baton Rouge and would like to add at least one more to the class.

Ed Orgeron said Wednesday at the New Orleans Quarterback Club that they were recruiting an elite running back nearby and without saying his name, it was clear he was talking about Emery...

"I believe LSU should get the best running back in the country," Orgeron said. "That’s what we’re looking for. We have our target on one and he’s not far from here."

Hard to believe he committed to Ga to begin with. LSU is a running back factory for the league.

“My next move can determine a lot with my future during and AFTER football.” I LOVE the sound of that logic.

Sounds like that "business decision" narrative floating around the last few years. Man i hope LSU pulls this off.

Geaux Eaux..... I meet Mr Emery before the UGA game. He is fine young man. He is very humble, polite and kind. He would be a great representative of LSU. I really hope to see him in P&G next year.

What does him recommitting from UGA have to do with the gumps? Honest question. Being an Auburn fan, I hate them as much or more than LSU fans but some of yall have let them pervade all aspects of your life. This story has nothing to do with Bama.
