HOUSTON, TEXAS – LSU Basketball outscored No. 19 Texas, 48-40, in the second half of play but still came up short against the Longhorns, 96-85, at the Toyota Center in the early game of the Halal Guys Showcase.

Jordan Wright had a team and career-high 33 points. Seeing his first action of the season, Jalen Cook scored 13 points and 6 assists. Derek Fountain also finished with 13 points and Hunter Dean added 11 points of his own.

For Texas, Max Abmas had a team-high 20 points. Tyrese Hunter finished with 19 points, Dylan Disu added 17 points and Dillon Mitchell scored 12 points and added 10 rebounds.

So, someone please explain because i haven't really followed LSUMB a whole lot but i do keep track of wins/loses. are we losing so many games because of wade's punishments from the ncaa? or are we in need of another coach? (only serious answers please)

Dang…4 starters with a cumulative 4 points?! On a positive note…Cook is back and Wright finally showed what he’s capable of.
