Former LSU coach Johnny Jones was named head coach at Texas Southern on Monday.
Jones was fired from LSU in March of 2017 after five season's in Baton Rouge and spent last season as an assistant coach at Nevada.
The former coach played for the Tigers from 1980-1984 and was a member of Dale Brown's coaching staff for 13 seasons (1984-97). During his five years as head coach 2012-2017, the Tigers made the NCAA Tournament just one time.
