re: Yes I know Rice fired Cruz

Berkman is a volunteer assistant at Rice this year.
I lean no, but not really sure
Mark Knopfler helped organize a new very extended recording of his song "Going Home" from the movie "Local Hero" to benefit Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America. The new recording features an astounding number of great artists:

Joan Armatrading, Jeff Beck, Richard Bennett, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Brown, James Burton, Jonathan Cain, Paul Carrack, Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder, Jim Cox, Steve Cropper, Sheryl Crow, Danny Cummings, Roger Daltrey, Duane Eddy, Sam Fender, Guy Fletcher, Peter Frampton, Audley Freed, Vince Gill, David Gilmour, Buddy Guy, Keiji Haino, Tony Iommi, Joan Jett, John Jorgenson, Mark Knopfler, Sonny Landreth, Albert Lee, Greg Leisz, Alex Lifeson, Steve Lukather, Phil Manzanera, Dave Mason, Hank Marvin, Brian May, Robbie McIntosh, John McLaughlin, Tom Morello, Rick Nielsen, Orianthi, Brad Paisley, Nile Rodgers, Mike Rutherford, Joe Satriani, John Sebastian, Connor Selby, Slash, Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr and Zak Starkey, Sting, Andy Taylor, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, Ian Thomas, Pete Townshend, Keith Urban, Steve Vai, Waddy Wachtel, Joe Louis Walker, Joe Walsh, Ronnie Wood, Glenn Worf, Zucchero

The song can be heard on all the normal streaming outlets. There is a video that shows who is playing when: LINK

It is fun (for me at least) to listen before watching the video to see who you can pick out.

Knopfler's bandmate and co-producer Guy Fletcher produced the track and has posted a little diary to his website: LINK

She said recently, after the Samford game I think, that the team's goals were to finish in the top half of the league and qualify for the NCAA tournament. I think she knows where they're at.

One of my faves, maybe at the top of the list the last few years.

Going to see him November 21 in Austin.

I think he's doing a cover album of Georgia artists for some sort of charity. He just released a cover of Driver 8.

edit: stupidly woke.

Death Cab for Cutie did something similar with "The Georgia E.P."

Also, his version of Driver 8 really sucks. Death Cab's take on "Fall On Me" is pretty good though.

To preserve their RPI, I assume. Cancelled with Samford this week and UAB for next. Samford's website says the cancellation was at Alabama's request and not weather or Covid related.

Is this common for teams on the bubble?

We're # 3

If we assume that LSU and Tulane are the best two academic schools in Louisiana in whatever order, who does the rant say is # 3?
I won't believe until I hear it from DALSU.

I believe he is the second member of that band to pass away. Leaves only the drummer.
I think I read this morning that the average landfall error 48 hours out is 80 miles

Greyhound/The Good Shepherd

Saw the film advertised today, and it looks interesting. I see that it is based on The Good Shepherd novel by CS Forester. Anyone read this and have an opinion?

They make excellent prosthetics nowadays. Very realistic.

How has this song escaped the PC shite?

It actually got banned in Canada a few years back for several months until common sense prevailed.
They've been under lockdown for a week. People are infectious for ~14 days. Cases should begin to level off within a week, if I have this figured correctly.
In our parish the DA will assist in collecting an NSF check, but not a stop-payment.
Ok, thanks for all your input. Based on your feedback we've decided to do Big Bend, but we're gonna wait until next Spring to catch wildflower season (we already have a Spring trip set to N. Carolina next month).
Middle Prong Trail is about 8 miles out and back, and passes several falls, a couple of which are slightly off the beaten path. Here is an excellent description to help make sure you don't miss anything:

Spruce Flats is shorter, seems like maybe 3.5-4 miles round-trip.
