Looking at how the winning coach is dressed says everything. It’s all about him.

Is leading by 15 really “running up the score”?

This is nonsense!! He’s still trying to play football with 30 seconds left and we’ve clearly given up!! He’s being mean!! Someone help!!

I don’t see the problem. The defense job is to stop the offense. As a competitor I wouldn’t want my opponent to show mercy. Keep playing until the final whistle.

Mack Brown, the N. Carolina coach at the time, stated it best when his team was up nearly 6 scores at halftime on an opponent...no need to embarrass ourselves or the opponent by running up the score, we've proven we are the better team, but then again, they do have an obligation to at least to make an effort at tackling our players. So true.

I never care if the winning team keeps trying to score - that's their job. But this play was a bit much and was actually risky, since the D could've intercepted and returned for a TD, and then it's a one-score game. Just protect the ball, run clock, and eliminate risk. Clearly there's more to this story.

The winning team never scored in the 4th quarter, maybe taking it's foot off the gas. There may have been more bad blood or something. It's pretty weak to flip out over one deep shot.
