UF has decided to name the field after the school's winningest football coach and the Gators' first Heisman Trophy winner. The official name will be Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.

"I was stunned, really, when Jeremy called. I had no idea that was even being considered," Spurrier said in a statement.

This day couldn't have come soon enough. Gators everywhere are so glad the Ole Ball Coach has finally left USC so we could properly honor his legacy. Go Gators!

You're such a dumb arse, Larry. They're not renaming the "stadium" like your headline says. It's the damn field.

Same thing Auburn did. Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium. I always wished they would have named it Jordan Hare Dye.
