Reed thanked both Will Muschamp and Jim McElwain for his time at Florida. He played in just two games during the 2016 season.

After a mediocore spring during which he was outplayed by Tavarius Clayton, Coach McElwain told him the truth: that he was designated 3rd string (scout team) for the coming season unless he improved his play. Have not seen a lot of film, but this spring game showed he is not yet ready to play DE in the SEC. Maybe a non-power 5 conference like the MAC, Colonial or Patriot league (or the WAC).
