Fighter Aspen Ladd has been removed from the card at UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Walker after an incredibly scary scene at her weigh-in on Friday. Ladd, who has struggled with weight cuts before, could barely stand on the scale as the 26-year-old tried to make the 135-pound limit. I feel like this isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone get real sick while quickly cutting weight the day of weigh-ins. Is it dangerous? Yes. My question is why it’s a big deal all of a sudden? If it’s that hard to get down in weight, don’t agree to fight in that weight class.

They dehydrate themselves to pretty dangerous levels. That way, they can rehydrate after weigh ins and be 10-20 pounds heavier for the right.

I guess it makes you lighter if you hold your hands above your head and move them in an uncoordinated manner so it appears as if you're weak and dizzy?
