Arkansas AD Was ‘Thoroughly Impressed’ By Deion Sanders In Interview Last Year
© Clarion Ledger via USA TODAY NETWORK
Deion Sanders pursuit of coaching college football landed him interviews with Florida State and Arkansas before landing at Jackson State. However, he did make an impression with Razorbacks athletic director Hunter Yurachek during his interview...
quote:

“I was thoroughly impressed with Deion,” Yurachek told Sports Illustrated. “I didn’t think this was the right starting point for him as a collegiate head coach in the SEC, but I think Jackson State is a great landing spot. Some are going to say this is a publicity stunt. Yes, it’s going to sell more tickets, but the time I was able to visit with Deion, he knows football.”

All the primetime bullshite aside, when the cameras are off he is, by all accounts, a different person. He knows what he’s talking about when he talks ball.

Anyone that watches him on barstool understands that he's a sharp guy. He just has a persona to uphold.

He made the right move by going to Jackson State. Then when he does well there he will be ready for FSU.
