That Performance Tonight - Kade

Posted by jgoodw318 on 4/3/25 at 8:52 pm
Anderson’s performance tonight was way more impressive than anything Paul Skenes ever did. Straight up. Paul Skenes is the best pitcher I’ve ever personally seen at LSU but that performance tonight, 136 pitch CG shutout in the cold and rain, is the best I’ve ever seen.

Not to mention it was off a fake mound.

The points all count

I’m not worried for points to get to the national tournament at the end of the season. I’m trying to make my flight team for our Ryder cup style event we have with another tour. The only points outside our tour that count are those earned at national regional events, which I won’t be playing in. And I also work as a firefighter so it’s not just my sons schedule I have to play around. It’s my work schedule as well.

Chennault is in the middle of May. I can only play in certain tourneys because of work, kids, etc. I would probably skip Chennault but I need as many points as I can get. Can’t play in any of the two day tourneys rest of the year, those are the big point getters. So I have to play well in the other tourneys I get to play in order to finish high on the point list in my flight.

I wish I could dude. Can’t play again until maybe Chennault in Monroe because of my sons tee ball season. But I love Cypress! Definitely recommend playing in the practice round and staying the night. Hopefully yall don’t have the wind we had there last year!

Multiple club pros through the year told me to play to the 150 marker. You’ll always have a clear, flat approach shot.

That was my plan. 5 iron to the fairway. Layup to that flat area. Pushed my 5 iron right and my punch out ran down the slope to the left side of the hole. Still had a decent look at par. But 4 jacked it and then things started moving very fast on the greens for me. Hard to win tournaments when you have as many putts as I did Saturday.

I was cruising right along until I got to the 3rd green. It was my 8th hole of the day. Hit my tee ball in the trees right. Recovery punch out I thought was good but kept running to the left so had to chip up to the correct side of the fairway. Hit my 4th shot to 15’ short of the pin. Thought I was in perfect position, walk away with bogey at worst. Ended up 4 putting and then had a stretch of 3 putts following that. 40 putts total on the day and all of my 3 putts came after the 3rd hole. Rough day.

Yes every “practice round” is really just a big skins game where everybody plays from their designated tees. Always the day before the tournament. But there’s only like 5-6 tee times reserved so you gotta jump on it and get in if you want to use it as a practice round.

What is this skins game you speak of?

That’s the practice round you’re playing in on Friday.

And I am in C Flight

What flight you in baw?? I’m playing too. Not playing skins game on Friday tho
1) less than 6 months. But I was also 17/18 y/o at the time and rehabbed hard.

2) 4 weeks. Had to wait for swelling to go completely down which took about 2 weeks, and then waited on opening in Dr schedule + good time to be out of school for a week.

3) Not sure as I wasn't the one making the payments. Thanks dad!

For reference, when I blew out my knee I did ACL + MCL + Meniscus all at the same time. Almost 20 yrs later and it has started giving me some issues. But I also work as a firefighter and have been pretty hard on it the last 10 years. The first 10 yrs post surgery/recovery had no issues. Dr. Shane Barton was my surgeon.

I played catcher growing up and thank God for the mask, chest protector, shin guards and the cup. But if you feel the game should be played without these modern-day protective devices, let's see if you are brave enough to get back there and catch without a mask and a cup.

This might be the dumbest statement about safety equipment I’ve ever read. Catchers gear and the stuff the OP posted are even in the same stratosphere of anywhere close to being the same thing.
What did you do with the theraband?
Having quite a bit of pain in my left elbow. I’m a right handed golfer. Extremely tender to the touch. Played yesterday and the first few swings didn’t feel so great but didn’t notice any pain at all after the first hole. Very sore this morning.

Anybody ever deal with this? How’d you handle it? What worked/didn’t work? I’ve got some tournaments coming up that I’m not backing out of, so looking for the best way to handle the issue while still being able to play in the tournaments. Definitely not going to hit the range or play very much before tournament time.

Republican congressman from Tennessee wants to amend the 22nd amendment to allow Trump a possible 3rd term. As much as I love that orange bastard this is a hard NO for anyone with active brain cells. Why open Pandora’s box?
Thanks! We aren’t really worried with food as much. Got a air bnb and are planning on cooking where we’re staying.

What are your top 4 courses?
Annual golf trip booked for HSV this summer. Never been, but have always heard great things about the courses. What are your top 3 courses in the area - not including Diamanté. I’m sure diamanté is the jewel of the bunch but you can only get times a week out if you aren’t a member.

Plan is to play Friday and Saturday, 36 each day. Trying to figure out best way to pick the 4 courses.

EDIT***

What are the best courses to play? What courses should we try to avoid?

Would you still hate the 12-team field if LSU were #11?

100% yes. 8 teams is the perfect number. There is a large differences in teams 8-12 in the rankings. Those 9-12 teams are good teams, not NC level teams. Personally, I still believe conference championships matter so I’m good with the 4 conference champions receiving auto bids - that does not mean they should be seeded 1-4. Do away with the 1st rd home games. This is the way
