I agree. I D, however wish companies would make wiser decisions.
For what it is worth...since you used to live in Beaumont....I lived in Buna for a very short time. Small world, huh? When we lived in Buna, I don't think it even had a red light. I was pretty young, so I don't remember a WHOLE lot about it....but I do remember it was close to Beaumont!

Ah, yes. But he also was with many other people. It was not just Jesus and his disciples, but a whole throng of people followed Jesus around almost 24/7...including many women!

Outstanding Jeff! I had seen this quite awhile ago, but had forgotten it. Says it so much better than anything else.

Why do you get so upset when once in a blue moon there's a topic that actually has real world relevance being discussed?
Our culture's current practice of attacking those whose views don't fit the political mainstream is scary, big picture stuff. Its not about Jesus or Phil Robertson....its about others deciding what is and isn't acceptable to say, think, etc. Does this not concern you?

I could care less about who called who what. It doesmt matter to me if you're black, yellow, green, purple, male, female, or a queer! Mainstream political views on actual important topics are perfectly fine discussing. If a bomb went off in a military institution, for example, that would be something to talk about. A reality T.V star, expressing his Christian views on T.V is not important. This is part of the problem in society today. We are not a Christian nation, but freedom of speech is the basis of our culture. Now that is being taken away. GTF over the petty things and talk about the important stuff, that's all I'm saying.

What if people from that same military institution mistakenly executed a drone strike on innocent people traveling to you and your wife's wedding?.....resulting in 17 of your family and friends dead and 22 of them injured? Would that be something worth your attention? That'd be pretty big news if that happened in america wouldn't it? Can you imagine the outrage and horror if a foreign government did this? Can you imagine the endless photos of the victims.....the women and children...... being shown on the news while the plastic newscasters and politicians acted solemn and choked back fake tears?...........
Well. It actually did happen a little over a week ago to one family. They weren't americans though, so that's probably why you haven't heard about it. And why you probably don't even care.
So, yes. I think you inadvertantly made a good point with your jibberish post. I agree with you that it's amazing and astonishing the topics that americans will get riled up and pissed off over...........and which ones they are trained to ignore.
s.i.y.g.'em.

Every time we walk into a store, we are bombarded with Duck Dynasty junk. The media knew this would stir up a bunch of hornets. Nobody cares that people are killed on a daily basis, they only care that a reality T.V star made a controversial comment. Who fricken cares? Why do we care? What should we care about?

That's what this is really all about. Controlling what we know and what our conditioned response is to certain things. The Duck Dynasty thing is trivial....but its all part of the same issue. "Trained" is a good choice of words.
But what do you expect from a society that gets their news from John Stewart and looks to the govt to take care of their every need? How many rounds of ammo has DHS purchased again?
Smoke em if ya got em indeed...

Dude, it's a slow period before the bowl game. This is a pretty hot topic to the point where we can discuss how our society has changed over the years. I definitely think that's a topic worthy of discussion. No one gives a shite if you don't.

Perhaps. But for me it is about something else. People criticize Christians all the time because we supposedly want everybody to live like us and believe like us. Many on this board have harshly criticized Christians for this very thing. Fair enough. But, when a Christian says something the secular world disagrees with, everybody gets all up in arms about having to get them in line with their beliefs and thinking. AND, when the hypocricy is pointed out, all of a sudden you guys want to move along...nothing to be seen here.
I have, however, been very impressed with many non-believers in this thread that have taken up for Robertson and Duck Dynasty. Again, I am not a fan of either.
That said, I am also concerned about our government calling on drone strikes purposely against American citizens in other countries without benefit of a trial. Yes, this has happened. There are dozens of topics that concern me...however, I commented on this one because it was brought up in a thread. I rarely start threads of my own.
And, to criticize someone for posting about Duck Dynasty while there are more important issues to be concerned about, while posting on a college football board seems...well....hypocritical at best, too, wouldn't you say?

A&E is drastically overreacting. The man didn't attack anyone, he merely expressed his personal beliefs and was then attacked for that.
A&E taking the steps they did was merely them caving to an unjustified attempt at character assassination.

I disagree. They are merely responding to an unprovoked and undeserved attack on their beliefs by a group of people that goes around trumpeting how wonderful and tolerant and understanding they are...until you disagree with anything they say in even the tiniest of manners.
The people full of faux indignation and false outrage over his comments are the ones at fault here. There is really only one solution for lemmings such as them, but it won't happen.
