I definitely agree with this. CMR gave CMB his first big break, first as QBC, and later as OC/QBC. So there was definitely a reason for that. He wanted control of the Offense early on. At least until he knew it was in good hands. I do feel like the last few years were all CMB though...
I don't feel like he's doing that now. I think given CSCHOTT's experience that he is more inclined to give a more subtle influence...for now anyway.

Neuheisel just put it out there on SXM 84 that he wouldn't be shocked if GL11 wins SEC Player of the Year. Pretty bold praise from someone who saw him play with the 1s in the flesh.

That sounds like he's keeping the door open just in case Lambert struggles to produce when going against quality competition.
