Well, consider the facts. He overreacts to the slightest issue and will never admit his reactions are premature. He believes anything he reads on the Internet or from some low level janitor at the MSC. Every time something bad happens, it's basically the end of our program's existence according to him. And he is more than willing to make shite up to prove a point.

I think Roger might be either one of our wives or Donald Trump.

Literally everything in my OP is still true. Texas is still enjoying a recruiting recruiting boost from the win, they will still likely win 8 games, we are still unlikely to go 10-2, etc.

The only lack of perspective here is from those who think ND being bad has ANYTHING to do with ANYTHING in the context of this thread.

Don't try to back track now, that was an 11 out of 10, you shite your pants when the texas-ND game hit zero, melt.

Texas will always get theirs, even after 3 or 4 sub par seasons. Sorry, but as much as we don't want to admit it, that program just recruits itself, just like Ohio state, bama, etc. they will always pull in some recruits. Yes we have been out recruiting them do to our sec move and better record the last few years, but that will not always be the case. Too many good recruits in this state and surrounding area.

Let's take care of us, if we can win 9+ games and not have any embarrassing losses, our recruiting will take care of itself. It would be nice to have less competition from Texas on the recruiting field, but anybody who thought they would stay down forever was lying to themselves.

If we win this year we won't have any problem getting talent. It doesn't matter if Texas goes 8-4. They're about to be 2-2 FWIW and their defense is one of the absolute worst in the country. We aren't nearly as dependent on Texas being bad as you think. They've never recruited poorly even when they were bad on the field

It wasn't a melt, it was simply an accurate portrayal of the state of affairs. A portrayal which still holds true.

The fact that for some reason some of you have now decided it's "gotcha" time only reflects a complete misunderstanding of the OP and the situation in question.

And are heavily favored to land 8 of our top 10 remaining targets in this class.

You were wrong about this
quote:

Texas schedule is incredibly weak. They have four games left they could realistically lose if they play like this on offense all year.

And this
quote:

Sumlin could have had a buffer zone had he taken advantage when they were wallowing in ineptitude. Now, he's reached the point of having to do what is realistically unlikely to remain competitive in recruiting

Cal, OSU, OU, Baylor, maybe TCU

They will simply out score Tech, Kansas, KSU, WVU and ISU.

8 wins most likely

The media is clearly there to slam on the gas of the Texas bandwagon. Fortunately their defense is bad enough to combat the hype.

Just need them to stay above the Fire Strong line. Lose today but win next week, drop a few more the rest of the way. That's what I'm rooting for.

And tech.

When you can't stop anyone on defense, you can lose almost any game. We should know that from the past 15 years.

Tech is probably the only defense in the Big 12 worse than theirs, but you're correct they could lose to a lot of teams with the way they play. See the Baylor-ISU game. Baylor is just a better version of Texas this year.

If the game was today, the line would be somewhere in the neighborhood of

KSU -6
Tech -2
WVU +1

To act like Texas doesn't have a chance to lose those games is dumb.

So our whole existence and only opportunity for success is dependent on Texas being bad, is that what you're saying? Not only is that the stupidest fricking thing I've ever heard, but it's a cat-5 level melt on your part.

If Charlie wins 8 games, he stays. This is directly from the horse's mouth. Otherwise, he gone. I don't give a frick what they do, we are going to be ok regardless.
