Out of recent OOC opponents VT (02,07,twice), North Carolina(2010), Arizona State(2005), Wisconsin (2013, 2016), Oregon State(2004), Oregon(2011), and Washington (2009, 2012), I believe that Washington was the only school to not appear in the Top 25 the week of kickoff versus LSU.
Right so in the average tear Florida plays a significantly more difficult OOC schedule than LSU.

I guess if we schedule McNeese then the OP will be happy?? i dont see the angle here.
McNeese
Eastern Michigan
Western KY
Syracuse
None of these could hold FSUs jock
Then the UT fans try to use UFs OOC as a smokescreen to cover up 11 years of humility

Since 2000, UF has scheduled a Power 5 school 20 times in the OOC schedule. LSU is at 15, which is about average for the SEC.

When the SEC decided to add a 7th conference game in the spring of 87, UF had to decide between FSU and Miami (the same way UGA had to decide between Clemson and GT) as an annual ooc opponent.

So now we are supposed to play Miami, FSU and add an out of state game?

Y'all just had a 4 year period without playing a single BCS/P5 opponent ooc until Arizona State last year.

Oh ok, so if you leave your state to play West Nebraska's Technical institute it means more than playing a top 25 team in your own state?? Gotcha

Posted on 1/8/16 at 11:58 am to BloodSweat&Beers

You have to in order to consistently play top level OOC teams, we on the other hand are from Florida which has been the dominant state in college football for going on 35 years- a Florida team basically plays for or wins the national title every other year or so if you look at the average.

Not that I want to rescue the Florida fans on this thread... but...
Florida is the only school in the entire country that has all of the following factors that affect the number of home games and its ability to schedule:
1) plays a neutral site game every year
2) Its chief rival in its own state is in another conference
Additionally,
Florida has 2 historic rivals in the same state and neither are in the same conference.
More info:
When the SEC expanded, Florida had to determine whether to pursue dropping FSU or Miami. Dropping FSU would have required a legal process because of state requirements that they play.
On years when there is an expanded college football season (part of the number of weekends available due to the calendar) Florida and Miami played.
Now, there is more flexibility and they should play. But, Miami refused Florida's offer to renew the annual series under Urban Meyer.
So, whoever the SEC moron on this thread is who said Florida is afraid to play Miami, is just an ill-informed moron. I forgot who it was, but you know who you are.

Because the assumption is based on a logical fallacy. Your question is the same as if you asked Florida State why they don't play Auburn every year (Auburn is the closest Div 1 school to Florida State not already on their schedule).
Florida State and Miami are in the same conference. Florida State doesn't have a neutral site game to take away a home game. So asking why Florida doesn't play a 2nd out of conference home and away series game is just not a proper application of logic.
