Why is Florida afraid of Miami?

It used to be great watching FSU, Miami, and UF play each other every year. Only reason I can think of is that UF has accepted 2nd to big bro FSU and doesn't want to fall to 3rd best in the state. It would look bad on them and the SEC for having a team below two ACC schools

They've been in discussions about opening a season against each other in the future fwiw. 2021, I think? Game would be held in Orlando iirc.

1. UF and Miami haven't played every year in the regular season since the 80s
2. I imagine its because they can recruit South Florida and sell playing in the SEC without having to beat Miami

If the Georgia game went to home and home it could be done much more easily. That's the reason Miami and UF couldn't keep the rivalry going.
Personally, WLOCP just isn't that important to me. Most of the tailgating is on a concrete surface, just not that great. Campus is a better atmosphere. I'd love to see Miami back on the schedule each year and go home and home with UGA. Or at least, have it in Jax every 3rd year.
I think there are some pretty big boosters in the Jax area that don't want the game to leave, and that complicates things even further.

If the SEC had never expanded we'd still be playing Miami. We aren't going to be the only SEC school that schedules 2 P5 schools OOC every year.

Foley wants 7 home games. UF plays the hardest schedule routinely until the last few years. Why make it harder than it already is? Btw we May play UM in 2019

UF doesn't gain anything by playing UM that it doesn't already get from playing FSU. Miami needs UF, not vice versa. Putting an SEC spin on it, its why bama fans want ut to be good or why UT fans hope to beat UF. Bama needs to justify. Tsio. You need us more than we need you. Yes your an SEC win but we don't put all our hope on just beating you. We work to get to the SEC title.
