I never said it was a bad thing. I don't know why sidewalk fan has a bad connotation with some people.
A frontrunning fan has a bad connotation to me. Or a t-shirt fan.
At least a sidewalk fan has a pride beyond the visibility of the program's brand.

Never attended UGA. Been a fan as long as I can remember.
That's what I always understood "Sidewalk" fan to mean.
Didn't attend the university, still a fan through thick and thin.
Bandwagon fans are the ones most people hate.

How in the hell does this happen? You spend 6 years of your time and money at a place that probably gave you some of the best times of your life, and you don't have the decency to switch allegiances from a place that you have literally zero connection to compared to the one you have for Auburn? My mind can't comprehend that.

I don't think there is much wrong with pulling for the same team your whole life. I have a bunch of friends that went to USA but their parents went to
UA so they just have to much Bama in them. I am also cool if you live in Louisiana and you pull for LSU. I also hate when some mfer comes up and tries to talk shite about State and never went to said school. See I am just making fun of his football team, which he will probably be a lifelong fan of another team soon, but he is dissing my alma mater. that will piss me off enough to make me meet them at Sonic

If sidewalk fan only means you didn't go to that school, i don't see an issue. I like to represent my universities in a positive light, and i think that notion is lost on some who have not attended. May be the only significant difference to me.
