And if LSU doesn't fumble the ball, the game is a snoozer.

I just answered the question.

We learned what we told LSU posters all last week. You beat them by not bailing on the run even though your TD was a pass the gassed defense was out of it at that point. The OM defense is not very deep and it will really be tested now. That they have multiple injuries to their starters. You also can't win if your only rushing threat is a head-case QB who jaws with fans in the stands.

How many points did your team give up to them?

Keep in mind, it was the first half of the year and they were still figuring their team out.

Yeah, exactly.

This is true also. LSU left 21 points inside the 20 on fumbles.

What defense would you prefer?

Doesn't matter how much you give up.

PS: UL's defense gave up 23 points to UVA and Clemson, 21 points to Murray State, 18 points to NC State, and get your comparisons in before they get gashed by FSU this weekend.

Actually the int's came after we stuffed the run and forced them into 3rd and long didn't they?

I don't remember LSU having much success at all on the ground in the 3rd and 4th quarter until the very last drive.

Even then we weren't walking down 8 into the box either. We were sorta conceding the run assuming they'd shoot themselves in the foot before they got into the endzone. One drive, they didn't....

Louisville's. Less rushing touchdowns, less yards, can stop the run. A pretty solid group. My only concern is they might be a mirage like Ole Miss obviously was. So far, no one has put 270 yards rushing on them though.

I like how Ole Miss fans who obviously haven't watched Louisville play a single game this year think they know enough to make the comparison.

That's why point. We create turnovers. Plus, we can play devil's advocate. Keith Lewis picks off the ball on the 15 instead of forming brick hands, we win. If that holding call isn't called on the 40 yard TD run, we win. If Bo doesn't throw that interception, we possibly win.

The fact is, we created a turnover. There is a reason the field is 100 yards and not 98. Our defense is relentless and has caused many red zone turnovers this year.

So is Louisville's. They have a bunch of turnovers as well.

Coming from the guy who calls our defense "a mirage".

Nice troll attempt.

What I'm saying is y'all didn't abandon the run. Y'all played to our defensive schemes weakness and didn't abandon it.

LSU ran at our weakness 55 times for 264 yards. That's 4.8 ypc, which is pretty decent, but not destruction. LSU was 0-6 on 3rd down in the second half. LSU came right at our weakness the whole game and managed 10 points. You had the best matchup possible and you scored twice. Our defense was on the field for 38 minutes and got scored on twice so now they're overrated.

Okay, so the difference is Ole Miss gives up much less points, which...is...the...point...of...a...successful...defense...?

I look at thread title....
I read "you also can't win if your only rushing threat is a head case QB who jaws with fans in the stand"....
Come to the conclusion that you either have difficulty differentiating between Defense & Offense or your input is an attempt to troll.....
Not sure which it is

Just to clarity what you're trying to troll with here.... Our defense is terrible.

Yet you only managed 10 points against them.

So, how bad is your team?

In reality this game should have been 24-7 LSU or 24-0 LSU! Your D is not physical and your O has no running game! Bad Bo showed his ugly face! 12 runs in a row and 95 yards to end game! Geaux Tigers!

Yeah look at ypc when you take out the fullbacks on short yardage and the quarterback's "attempts."

The running backs averaged 5.2 yards per carry. For reference, that's like Barry Sanders' NFL career type numbers.

did you watch the lsu scoring drive?

95 out of your 155 yards for the entire half. You had one good drive and it won you the game because y'all's defense was jacked up and bad Bo came to Baton Rouge.

I agree it could have been 17 for LSU... it also could have been 17 for us.

We had two TD's called back and didn't kick the field goal in the last seconds... obviously.
