What Conclusion to draw from Ole Miss' Defensive Performance Last Week

Or Ole Miss had a bad game while only giving up 10 points?

Teams are still allowed to have those right?

+1. Also, wasn't Ole Miss's average 10 points per game BEFORE the LSU game? They also forced 4 turnovers. Seems like they did very well to me.....

Sucks right now. I imagine our matchups will continue to be close in the future.

No he wasn't according to the play by play on espn.com. You are misremembering.

I'm not sure why it doesn't show up on espn.com but I'm seeing some reportage of that Mathers run. Perhaps I'm mistaken. I'm not sure.

Well, we are.

4-2-5 is better at shutting down spread attacks. It has weaknesses against a power attack. Y'all are a power run team.

Don't kid yourself. Everybody knows we left at least that many on the field.

Yeah, those turnovers weren't cause by defense or anything.

Actually the int's came after we stuffed the run and forced them into 3rd and long didn't they?

The one in the 3rd qtr was on 3rd and 8, the one in the 4th was on 2nd and 8.

I don't remember LSU having much success at all on the ground in the 3rd and 4th quarter until the very last drive.

On the very last drive LSU gained 2 yards on 1 play and the game was over.

The LSU possession previous to that LSU went 3 plays and out, losing 16 yards on two penalties. That drive ended in a punt.

You must have meant:

Obviously you didn't watch the game. Our performance against the run in the second half was much better.

The last drive by you guys was great though.

And what part did the defense play in the missed chip shot fg?

Let's make sure we also congratulate Freeze for not recruiting Delahoussaye while we're giving illusory credit.

Great job by Freeze not taking LSU's kicker for just such a moment.

LSU ran the ball well but they actually struggled to do so after halftime adjustments until the very last drive of the 4th Qtr. Even then, they needed to throw to get the TD as it was pretty obvious they were going to struggle to get it in the Endzone running inside the 10.

Do you not remember the previous 80 yards before getting to the 10 yard line for the TD?

Yea we established that. The kick was just missed. There was a very easy opportunity to add points and Delahousaye just didn't execute. It wasn't a long attempt, 28 I believe. Wasn't blocked or pressured, just missed.

Hence leaving points on the field

LSU running backs got 5.2 yards per carry. It was just a gashing. People can try and whitewash it or explain it, that's pretty stark.
