Looks better.

Probably a coach with a lower winning percentage in the SEC and less NC.

I think Bryant and Spurrier are at the top, but to not have Saban in the top 3 is comical.

What makes you say Neyland over Bear?
Well they faced each other a number of times and Bear never once won. He also said himself that Neyland was hands down better than him. If you go back and look at what Neyland did it's pretty damn impressive but so many choose to ignore that and just blindly put Bear #1.
You're splitting hairs when you're choosing between #1 and #2 but to me Neyland's 6 undefeated teams at UT beats Bear's 2 @ UA

If Saban had only coached LSU he is still ahead of Dooley.

What are you talking about?
I would put Bear 3rd actually after Knute Rockne as well if we're talking Nationally.

Bear Bryant became the head coach at Alabama in 1958. Robert Neyland coached at Tennessee from 1926-1952.......

You do realize Bear Bryant had a long coaching career before he got to Alabama, right?

So do you have Darrell Royal and Ara Parseghian ranked ahead of the Bear as well? If head to head record is so important, why is Tom Osborne always ranked ahead of Barry Switzer even though Switzer was 12-5 in head-to-head matchups against Osborne? Why do people consider Bill Belichick to be a better coach than Tom Coughlin who has a 5-1 record against him including 2-0 in Super Bowls? There's more to compare two coaches by than just head to head record.

It matters when the accomplishments of the 2 are pretty close. You're citing comparisons where 1 coach accomplished enough more than the other coach that h2h didn't matter. That's not really the case in Bear-Neyland.

Geez what a sucky list. Bryant is overhyped and several so-called championships are jokes. No way Saban isn't in top 2. Not sure if Bryant or spurrier is the other top 2. List just awful.pretty sure Miles should be on there some where. Frank Thomas, wtf.

Bryant was a notorious "poor mouther". Regardless, Bryant only faced Neyland while he was coaching at Kentucky.

Paul Bryant 292-69-15 (160-46-9) at Kentucky and Alabama - 34 years, 14 SEC titles, 6 national titles
Robert Neyland 173-31-12 (103-17-10) at Tennessee - 21 years, 5 SEC title and 2 Southern Conference titles, four national titles
Also, Bryant coached four undefeated teams. 1961, 1966, and 1979 at Alabama. And 1956 at Texas A&M.
