what do you mean what do I mean?... has petrino spoken on this rule or is it speculation that he'd be indifferent?

offensive college coaches are probably against this rule... whether they've spoken publically or not is another matter.

Who said anything about Petrino's opinion? The question I answered was in regards to how would we as Arkansas fans feel about this rule if Petrino was still our coach.

I said I would be indifferent because the rule wouldn't affect us if Petrino was still the coach because he didn't run HUNH.

hen have an open meeting, with folks from both sides... Fresh Defensive Players (LBs and Dline) will now cause more injuries to offensive players, QBs and Linemen)

That is the SAME logic used...

So if it is ALL about player safety, then lets make blitZing illegal
fresh defensive players are much much less likely to hurt themselves or the offensive player because they are less likely to lose form when tackling. Also, I wish people would stop likening this to stopping blitzing (a post snap activity, an actual play, vs an abuse of presnap procedure quirk). It's a spurious analogy. Defenses have already been neutered on the field about as much as possible. The only sports analogy I've heard that hold up to even the slightest scrutiny is the baseball fast pitch.

Why do Auburn and AnM hate player safety?

We don't. That is why we run a safer stype of offense.

?@CFBMatrix
Last yr Bama & Ark Ds played 525 snaps vs #Aggies #Auburn #OleMiss Offenses. DLs lost for season those weeks=0. Ave play/min = 3.23 [1/2]

?@CFBMatrix
[2/2] combined they lost 3 DLs to season ending injury in 232 plays vs 3 teams in games that ave 2.34 PPM. [VT, SC & ARK]

I am pretty sure it has been well documented that Todd Berry, Troy Calhoun, Saban and Fatty Porkrinds are the only active coaches for this rule change...and at least 10 X's that many are against it. What is your point?

at the very least the rule would go far towards preventing all those fake injuries Malzahn was worried about that kept hitting his team...

He should be happy. He even asked for a rule that would keep teams from faking injuries and this rule should do it.

That's what hilarious about this whole thing. Two coaches...YOUR coaches can't seem to figure out the HUNH...aka, THEY ARE SCARED...and literally try to change the game of college football for all teams, all division, under false pretenses. And WE are scared. The fact that you apparently don't see the irony here is almost as funny as it is disturbing. The human capacity for self-delusion is mind boggling.

BTW-I don't think this will affect Auburn hardly at all. aka NOT scared.

They just want a safer game for the kids. Why do all these other coaches want to hurt the kids.

Bama lost more players playing slow teams than fast ones.

gotcha... i guess my point is if petrino came out against this rule, then arkansas fans would all kinds of pissed about it.

where you stand on this debate shouldn't be what team you pull for, b/c lord knows how many times a program changes offensive philosphies over the course of a 5 to 10 year span.

it should scare ANYONE who is a fan of college football that people are attempting to fundamentally change how the game is played in the name of player safety with absolutely ZERO evidence to back it up.... it's an extremely slippery slope that should worry all fans.

That's because they were tired after playing the unsafe HUNH teams. Duh.

Conditoining would assist in the recovery. You guys need better trainers, then.

So Saban wants to hurt these kids? because his coaching methods have actually been proven to cause injuries and trauma later down the road. And yall have touted his methods, yet they actually have correlations to head trauma and injuries. Care to guess at what it is?
