Love how you chose the game where he threw for 340 yards, 4 TDs, and then ran for 100 yards more and 1 TD as your baseline for making fun of him.

Hurts is a very good athlete and a smart QB, but very average arm strength and that's being kind.

No, that's just being wrong

At Auburn, he'd be a good bet to lead them to playoff contention. Bama's system isn't his best fit, but Gus' would be.

He'd still need to improve his passing, which I'd have questions about given Gus' lack of QB development. But, if he did gradually get better throwing the ball he'd be dynamite in that scheme.

Im confused, Francois threw for 200 on Bama's Defense, and Jalen threw for 96 on FSU's Defense.

Are Bama fans saying that FSUs Defense is better than Bamas?

Why do some people like to act like Alabama is running the Maryland I and throwing 11 times a game?

2013 AJ McCarron - 26 pass attempts per game
2014 Blake Sims - 28 pass attempts per game
2015 Jake Coker - 26 pass attempts per game
2016 Jalen Hurts - 26 pass attempts per game

Not only that, Blake Sims freaking set the single season passing record at Bama

I wouldn't in 1 million years.

I wouldn't choose that douche canoe Mett over Hurts in a million years either.

for Alabama, he does enough to win games. but I wouldn't want him as LSU's qb. even though we have a good defense, I dont' want to go back to a so-so passer at qb. we've had that for so many years, and are just now poised to come out of that purgatory.

I'd rather Hurts in Canadas offense. Our receivers aren't great.. running backs are.. we'd basically be running the triple option with Hurts and a lot of RPOs.

Hurts isn't a great passer.. probably not even good. There's a reason the coaches don't trust him to throw over the middle. He's really an incredible runner though.. and when you have a receiver like Ridley demanding double coverage and you have to spy a QB like Hurts.. that's like playing defense with 9 guys. That's where his value is IMO.

Alabama defense recovered 13 fumbles (26 fumbles, 17 forced) last season and had 16 interceptions (six pick-6's).. 7.87 TFL/game, 3.60 sacks/game.. Hurts had it really really easy.. until November/December/January where Bama was converting less than 40% of 3rd down attempts

I agree that Canada could run an offense around him. I would still rather etling, but that's just my preference.

Do you think Hurts accounted for 55% of the offense because he's so good or because 100% of the plays ran through him? I eagerly await your "intelligent" response
the comment I replied to specifically stated that every player in the team was making plays at a higher rate than hurts (completely without any kind of basis). I replied that hurts personally accounted for 55% of the offense last year, which is a high number. How does that compare to our best QB of Saban's tenure in his best season (2012)? Mccarron accounted for 47% of the total offense, only 44% of the TDS scored by the offense. Hurts accounted for 55% of the total offense himself and 61% of the offensive touchdowns himself. Did that mean hurts was better than aj? No. Does it mean you are a retard that makes baseless and stupid statements? Yes. Hurts very clearly was vital to our offense last year not just feeding of others playmaking. So frick off and die

the talking heads and gurus pretty much agree, as well as coach saban, that Hurts has the tendency to take off running before going thru progessions.

there is not much precedent for qb's to get over that tendency, especially when they are very good runners. For example, Steve Young was years in the pros before he started resisting that temptation, and that on good advice from a coaching guru.

so even if I agreed that he could be a good passer, he likely won't give himself the chance.

Etling is going to throw the ball all over the hogs when we kick your butts later this season. Apparently, you didn't see Etling play against BYU. He completed 82 percent of his passes including a beautiful 52 yarder to DJ Chark.

The wins are all that matter to me. IDGAF if he plays in the NFL, or throws for 400 yards per game or hits on 70% of passes over 30 yards, or any of that shite.

Winning is the name of the game and so far Jalen has done pretty well.

Except LSU's defense is better than Bama's defense this season. Come to think of it, so is their offense.

I mean Mett was a statue, I get that, but a FAR better passer than Hurts. And Mett played in more NFL games than Hurts likely will (at QB anyway).

That being said, I have no problem with Hurts. Guy is out there doing his best. He has won a lot of games. In a conversation about best passers, his name isn't up there, but he is a great player, a winner, and from what I can tell a good person.

While not a polished passer, Hurts would wreck shite in Malzahn's offense. Probably average 225 yards passing and another 100-125 rushing per game.

Mett over Hurts imo. Hurts can destroy a bad defense on the ground but he just isn't gonna beat you with his arm. Jalen won't sniff the NFL as a quarterback.

Isn't that what we had in qbs in the last two championships the Tigers won?
