I mean, I just showed you a video of him making basically the same throw 6 days ago with no hint of "nervousness" or wobble.

But hey, it's all good. You clearly have a hard set opinion. No sense in trying to change it.

Really? You don't think any team in the SEC would trade their QB for Jalen Hurts?

nope. who would he help? even a team like florida - they've already got zaire. there's a good example, there. zaire could do what hurts is doing at alabama. i'll grant that hurts arm is better than Zaire's, but it's relative.

you tell me what team would want him.

I'd just like to imagine Drew Lock, Kyle Shurmur, Stephon Johnson, Jacob Eason, Danny Etling, Nick Fitzgerald, Malik Zaire, Kellen Mond/Nick Starkel, Q. Dormandys stats if they played FSU tomorrow.

I'm sure they'd be sparkling. I mean, look how well all those guys played against Alabama/LSU/any decent defense last season and/or their week 1 opponent.

Coon arse, go back and watch the entire game. Hurts and AS13 are talking with coaches on the sideline about an obvious wrong route or miscommunication. Do research you stupid frick.

How did Hurts beat out the 3 older QB's last season ?

Why did Nick Saban think Hurts gave Bama the best chance to win football games ?

Why does he still believe Hurts gives Bama the best chance to win while the talented Tua holds a clipboard ?

Why can't Nick Saban figure out what certain Bama fans and all of the LSU fans have already figured out which is Hurts is awful ?

I don't know why Bama pays Nick Saban 11 million a year if he cant figure out what these Hurts detractors on the Rant can figure out from home.

I think Nick Saban must not know what he is doing. Bama would likely build a dynasty if Nick Saban didn't have his head up his arse. Bama will be a perennial bottom feeder with this Nick Saban guy doing the talent evaluations, and calling the shots in Tuscaloosa.

If only we had started the QB's that Hurts beat out. I hear they are holding clipboards at their new schools as well, but they are definitely better than Hurts. No doubt, especially Blake Barnett... I've never seen a more poised sophomore. Barnett threw like three TD's per scrimmage during the QB battle... I mean sure those TD's were going in the wrong direction for the defense, but that is still pretty impressive.

Nick Marshall threw 200yds on a FSU team that was light years better than the 2016 or 2017 edition. He did with a team that rushed the ball 73% of the time.

Hurts needs to spread the ball around more, Ridley was the only receiver he looked for all night. There aint no OJ Howard or Stewart to save him this year.

He threw 3 balls that were either dropped (Ruggs endzone, Jeudy on a 3rd and 6) or called back (Jeudy 20 yards down the sideline, called back on a hold by Cotton) to other WRs.

He does need to spread it, but we also have a bunch of true freshmen receivers and new tight ends. It's gonna take a few games for all of them to get on the same page.

I was speaking figuratively...

Stidham had players drop balls in the endzone and dropped 3rd down conversions but the jury is out on him too. IJS

Hurts is better than anything yall got. And for the past 10 years. Maybe more.

Nah. Mett and Flynn were both better QBs in the last 10 years.

Yea, both have work to do and tests to come. Really looking forward to Saturday night with Auburn. Feel like Stidham could have a national coming out party (not that I "want" that, but it feels set up for that).

it's a given that hurts' talents are good enough at Alabama to win. no one is questioning that. no one is questioning nick's decision to play Hurts.

I would choose etling over hurts. AND I would choose Bentley, fromm and stidham over etling.

would florida state be better with hurts? southern cal? Oklahoma? not no, but hell, no. hurts would flop.

Alabama fans, you have a good quarterback for Alabama. that's going to have to be good enough for you. I don't think he's good enough to win the natty without last year's defense, but that's just my opinion. I do think he can get you back to the playoffs with the defense and special teams you have now.

I wouldn't in 1 million years.

I agree, I would too. I think he's the best NFL prospect in the SEC.

fromm

Little early to make that call

Than Francois? I think they'd be pretty similar

southern cal? Oklahoma?

No, they both have Heisman trophy contending QBs, one of which will be a Top 5 NFL pick next year and the other would be as well if he wasn't 5'10''. Anybody with a brain wouldn't say Hurts is as good as those guys are right now.

Hurts is a progressing, raw QB. We hope he has improved from 2016. We really aren't sure yet. Again, it's ok to say he had a solid freshman year and needs to make some specific improvements this year. He doesn't have to be better than Darnold and Mayfield OR be the worst QB in the league.

Lets play QB's that redshirted, and had the opportunity to develop behind closed doors instead of under a microscope shall we ?

I'll start:

1. Tom Brady
2. Jameis Winston
3. Marcus Marriota
4. AJ McCarron didn't start till his Redshirt Sophomore season. I wonder if True Fresh McCarron could have produced the numbers that Hurts did ?

5. Johnny Manziel
6. Danny Etling
7. Matt Flynn
8. $cam Newton didn't play D1 ball till his junior year I believe.

Why does Hurts not get any credit for having to develop in front of the entire world unlike so many before him ?

At Auburn, he'd be a good bet to lead them to playoff contention. Bama's system isn't his best fit, but Gus' would be.
