Yep. It would be more fulfilling. I'm just highlighting this bs that crystal is crystal in relation to getting respect from sec country as the duck was trying to prove.

To be the best you gotta beat the best.

Da SEC is the standard in football and until someone beats them in a title game they will get no credit. I can see it now as sec fans belittle the winner.

Sounds like somebody is a little mad about his Buckeyes getting steamrolled.

I'll be pulling for Ohio State to beat Oregon if my alma mater fails to make the title game. It would greatly amuse and entertain me.

If my alma mater fails to make the title game, I'll be sure to cite all the reasons you listed as excuses.

Before you laugh that off, I'm a big proponent of an 8 team playoff. Gives the SEC the best shot at always having our top teams in the hunt for a crystal ball and helps level the playing field (somewhat) for schools with more difficult regular season schedules.

Oregon could compete on a one game basis. Doubt they could run the table in the SEC though

I always see this as if its some proof that the SEC's best teams are so much better than other conferences best but even SEC teams tend to not make it through unscathed so... why is that a point worth bringing up again?

"HEY YOUR TEAM CAN'T DO SOMETHING OUR TEAMS CAN'T! YOU MUST SUCK!"

Wait, before we do this, is this going to be a legit Oregon team or do we need to wait until they have 5th year seniors who were 5 star recruits lined up at every position?

After watching Oregon live twice, I truly believe if they ran the SEC schedule they would most likely get out with 2-3 losses.
If they play teams with a strong defense, specifically 3-4 with linebackers who can run sideline to sideline. Oregon would get shut down. Their coaches do an excellent job scheming plays, if a great defense were to make the QB make decisions instead of just one read, it would give them fits.

Yeah, UT plays in the SEC, but we are not an SEC caliber team right now.
Hell, we are playing 5 walk-ons in our 2 deep.

They could easily go undefeated with Bama's schedule.

So you're saying Oregon would easily beat A&M and LSU?

Interdasting.

Oregon held your running game to 66 yards in the first half and 87 yards when we put in the scout team. That was against an OL that we heard was going to maul our DLINE all week.

That is where Oregon is different. Tiny Richardson said the defense gave them no angles all game long.

That is the difference between Oregon this year and any other. Our defense has arrived.

Let me phrase it this way.
If they played UGA, Bama, LSU (already seen that outcome), UF, maybe a few others they would score points, but it wouldn't be in the 40s. Maybe not in the 30s.
Stanford is their only true "tough" defense they will face in the regular season.
They also lost the Stanford last year.

Im not mad at all. Ive dealt with our losses and moved on. Just keening on the incongruencies in your post then again I may be reading into things to much. No hard feelings.

Which team is your alma mater? Oregon State? Someone else?

The 4 team playoff will be much better than the current model we have now.

Your win over Tennessee says more about how bad Tennessee is than it says about how good Oregon is.
As I mentioned earlier, we're playing 5 walk on players in our 2 deep.

Our team, offense & defense is awful. It would make Tulsa's school for the blind look good.
Oregons secondary, I will agree, is very good. But i'll be interested to see Oregon's D line up with talented offensive team like Bama, aTm, or LSU.

Oregon and the media are putting a lot of stock into this win of Tennessee, they're going to be in for a rude awakening when we finish the year with only 4/5 wins.

No, I'm saying them going undefeated with Bama's schedule would be something they could do and it wouldn't be some crazy shocker if they did.

Its a two game regular season schedule. Maybe 3 depending on what you think of Ole Miss.

People who say they would have no shot are full of it.

Auburn.

14-0. Ship.

Past, present and future Pac 12 champions.

The 4 team playoff will be much better than the current model we have now.

Yup. But 8 will be enough to make sure all top 10 teams from the SEC West are accounted for.

Oregon isn't putting a lot of stock in the Tennesse game. I knew Tennesse was not good enough. Most of the score predictions were 49-24ish. I said that I couldn't see them getting more than 17.

Most on here believed Tennessee could ground and pound with our smallish front (they are not small but that is what was said). Oregon did exactly what I thought they'd do.

However, you have to admit that Oregon played beyond expectations. Scoring 59 unanswered and forcing you to punt 8 straight times was better than expected.

At the end of the day, I don't put too much stock in one game.

You will not win this argument. Nice try, but truth is no one here will take you seriously unless you've got crystal. A&M might guffaw a bit but, you know, they're more like an easily-amused younger step-brother

Of course Oregon is. It was in the papers and on every Oregon website I've seen. "Oregon defeats undefeated SEC team." Really?

Oregon scored 59 on Virginia (who may have a better D than us) and 66 on Nicholls State. How is scoring 59 on a Tennessee defense that was ranked in the 100s last year "playing better than expected?"

The media in Oregon is ridiculous. No Duck fan thought that was going to be anything but a blowout. We were a 28 point favorite for fricks sakes.

Oregon fans think they're good because we have been very good and we know this team is better.

if Oregon would have lost to UT it would have been "lulz SEC #1 nice try pussies"

Now its "yea, but UT isnt a real SEC team this year"

Only team Oregon wouldnt beat this year is Bama.

So any decent team would put up around 60 pts on Tennessee?

Oregon is legit. I've watched them in the past and felt there were some suspect areas that kept them from being elite. This Oregon team is elite and could beat anyone in the country. This Oregon unit is better than the previous models.
