People can look at it however they want, but when people see Tennessee in conference play this year, Oregon's "big SEC win" is going to look about as impressive as their win over Virginia.
The peeps who don't realize this don't matter...

Honestly that fan is exactly right. You should be a fan of your team, not your conference. I know the SEC is the best conference, but I don't have any reason to take "pride" in that. Georgia is my team.

It's like me knowing that gravity exists. It's undeniable, but I don't have "pride" in gravity, it's just a fact.

That hurts, man. After all we've done for you.

Other teams come in & poach our HS talent...Why should a UGA fan root for you to succeed & maybe take more of our talent???
No brainer IMO...

Oregon likelihood of beating SEC teams in this order:

1. Tenn (obviously)
2. 'Tucky
3. Missouri
4. Arky
5. Auburn
6. Vandy
7. MSU
8. Ole Miss
9. A&M
10. LSU
11. USCe
12. UF
13. UGA
14. Bama

Would likely beat 1-7. Would have trouble with 8-11. Would probably lose to UF. Would def lose to 13-14.

Oregon is at worst 7-7 v. the entire SEC, at best 12-2. They can compete. Anybody saying otherwise is too proud and stupid to think clearly.

Virginia will be a better team than Tennessee by the end of the year. They had a better defense and Watford has much more upside than Worley.

I personally want to measure Oregon after they play the best of the best. This team is better than the 2010 which was better than the 2011 team that played LSU. The team that played LSU was replacing 3 olinemen and 5/7 in the front seven. It may have been the 2nd weakest point in Kelly's tenure after replacing all 5 olinemen for the BSU game.

Oregon needs a National Title to legitimize the success and not against tOSU.

We'd break 130 easily.

UGA couldn't beat y'all this week & there's prolly only 2-3 SEC teams that would give y'all a game this week...

Now...come the 1st week in Dec. I'd give UGA a chance...

And how many starters was LSU replacing? Oregon doesn't exist in a vacuum. It was a new season for both teams.

You had your entire DL coming back minus Nevis and a backup DT in Pep. 6/8 in your two deep were coming back and at linebacker you lost Sheppard but had 5/6 in the two deep returning. You lost like 3 guys on defense and your lines were all coming back.

This was the rationale by entire fanbase going into the cowboy classic. There was much more experience for LSU than Oregon going into that game.

It would be like Oregon playing you this year for the first game. We returned a ton and you lost a ton.

We weren't two chicks living together cycling at the same time...

They are the Ohio State of the PAC. Need to win the big games to garner respect.

Oregon has handled their last two BCS opponents.

Pretty much. I'd give us a few more points with the improved offense, though. Probably 45-27 LSU.

Think Texas A&M offense (With a QB just as good) combined with a much better defense.

I disagree with the offense part. I don't think Oregon's offense, specifically with regards to the JFF factor, are nearly as hard to prepare for as A&M's.

But beyond JFF, A&M is much more physical at the point of attack, which is why they are such a nightmare. Oregon's O-line aren't prototypical 1-5 like A&M's. Neither do they have a physical, punishing runningback of which A&M has a few. Until they get NFL type linemen and a physical presence at RB, it's very easy to make Oregon one-dimensional in a situation where you have a month to prepare.

I think the scores and "wow" factor of that offense, as it seems to do every year, fool us a little bit. Once they get revved up defenses simply quit on them and they begin to score at will. In the end you see blown out opponent X, Y, Z and think they must be the best team in the country.

I do think Oregon has a better defense than they've had, so that part I agree with.

False. The only returning starters on the DL were Sam Montgomery (coming off injury) and Ken Adams. And only 2 of our top 5 DTs had seen any action at all.

The linebacker numbers are similarly wrong.

Before they continue to get multiple chances against LSU and Alabama, let's make sure they can consistently beat the SEC-like team in their own conference.
They have to play Stanford and UCLA

And LSU was handicapped by our QBs. Excuses, excuses...

We know.

The crystal ball is the crystal ball.

I would much rather we had curbstomped Okie State for the title than had to face a real team like Bama twice in one year.
