One of the last universities who took the NCAA to court over sanctions was the then University of Southwestern in Lafayette, now ULL. They filed an injunction to enable its basketball team to play in the NCAA's. Won the injunction, got to play, got blown out in the first round game and then the NCAA's atty filed 300 pages of legal discovery demands with its atty. the next wk USL settled the following wk & ended up getting the death penalty for its basketball program for several yrs. Freeze would have to have very deep pockets to fund his own suit & the fees would run in the millions. No way Freeze files suit for any reason.

Great point, and OleMiss damn sure won't foot the legal bill to cover Hugh's lawsuit. Hell, they're losing millions from the SEC revenue, loss of at least one bowl payout, and they've got their own legal bills + they are still paying Freeze's salary while they pay to fight his Failure to Monitor allegation.

MCNair at USC has a lawsuit with the NCAA
now . From what I read the NCAA is going to
wind up settling because of the investigators
conduct. To say Freeze won't consider suing
if he loses his career is naive. Take away his
livelihood and who knows what happens.

Jackie Sherrill's suit from 2004 still hasn't made it to court.

I'm just glad Orgeron got out of there before being permanently tainted.

He needs it in Mississippi; but, the court is log-jammed.

Hugh would also need his to be in Mississippi.

He's much, much younger than Jackie; maybe he'll live long enough to see it through?
