incompetence...not having the luxury of our head coach being best friends and golf buddies with the head of the NCAA to guide us thru the landmine field of the NCAA got us blown up in the end.
So in your opinion, OleMiss would have been able to figure out that they needed to shut down the boosters and cut Barney Farrar off from contact between boosters and recruits while you were under NCAA investigation if only Hugh Freeze had been best friends with Mark Emmertt? Freeze and Bjork needed a close personal relationship with Emmertt to know that they needed to monitor their own staffers and their recruiting activities?

I'm still laughing about how winning 9 regular season games two years in a row is some huge feat

I am at a lost why anyone thinks Bama is behind this investigation. This is because the investigator that took over after the Tunsil draft night situation had a huge bone to pick with CHF and had someone spoon feeding her.
I swear I posted this multiple times over the last year.....I said this 2nd investigation was acted out like a woman scorned. (I didn't know it was actually a woman behind this.) Someone with a vendetta went for the kill shot and got the COI to grant immunity to get corroboration and build their case.

Long story short we will likely get pounded by the COI but what they "found" over a +4 year investigation is nearly laughable. No one can say with a straight face that their own school wouldn't suffer the same exact thing if the NCAA did likewise at their school.

Oh hell no. That was a radical, invasive colonoscopy that no program could come out clean.

Couple that statement with the shenanigans of Barney Farrar (Asst Athletic Director) and the LOIC could be justified. If your Compliance Dept sucks arse and your Atletic Dept has a staffer facilitating impermissible contact and benefits between boosters and recruits, then Ole Miss has no control over the Institution.

Was incompetent....key word is "was". The institution has gone to great lengths over the past 4 years to restructure the department as Boone had left it. Almost every single thing in the first letter was self reported. In regards to Barney if Freeze has the documentation to prove he was going on his own against CHF's guidance it will be a coin toss (the reason why Chip Kelly got slammed is because he was the driving force with paying the agent)

Less than $60,000 worth of violations, but a one year bowl ban that will cost the Rebels 8-10 million dollars.

Does the punishment fit the crime?

Does $60,000 worth of infractions mean Ole Miss gets death penalty?

The flip side is paying $60K to make the team better to make a bigger bowl to make millions more than you would at a lower bowl. I thought Rebal-landshark-blackbears-totallynotracists were smarter than that.

Typical stupid OM poster. They used immunity against us when Sherrill was our coach. Doug Buckles, who played at OM for 10 fricking years, got immunity to testify that State offered him shite.

It seems to me, the exodus occurred this offseason. There were plenty of infractions from the Bjork era, post Boone.

Then I'm sure you would have no trouble supplying evidence of self reporting the numerous level 1s.

Y'all tried to stonewall the investigators. It pissed them off. Now they have OM's head in a guillotine, allowing you to say your last words. Any suggestion that OM was fully cooperative is a fairly tale and is belied by the circumstantial evidence at hand.

You can blame the other, rival "protected" schools, you can blame the vindictive NCAA, you can point to "shaking up the pecking order" ( ), none of that matters. OM cheated, they tried to pretend they didn't, they got caught, and now they are going to pay. By all means, keep swinging as you are going down, but you'll simply end up like a petered out toddler after throwing a temper tantrum. Everyone else will forget about OM as they wallow in the rubble of a once mediocre program.

The lady that took over the investigation post Draft night was the same lady who investigated Ole Miss over Micheal Oher. She had her sights set on Freeze in particular and I would almost be willing to bet a pay check that she had some journalists on speed dial.

This whole investigation was a perfect example of how not to handle the NCAA. Ole Miss naively thought "if we cooperate they will take that into account". Nothing could be further from the truth and every school going forward should shut the door, lawyer up and immediately shite can anyone that even looks to be out of line.

Didnt Freeze knowingly attend a meeting with a recruit and booster?

Umm nope. No one realized that the FCA leader holding the FCA meeting that Freeze attended and spoke at had once been a baseball season ticket holder 2 years prior (and thus why he was deemed a booster....because for 1 season prior to Freeze being the Ole Miss HC he had BASEBALL season tickets)

Dude cut out this bullshite charade. He was a booster and Freeze was with him in the house of a recruit. Just stop it's embarrassing to the rest of us.

Whats even worse is that none of y'all realize how stupid and pathetic it makes you look to keep asking to be treated as an equal with Alabama. Y'all aren't even the best program in your own state, much less in the West.

Ahhh, I didn't know that. Even more reason as a Head Coach to monitor the hell out of your coaches. Put a load of pressure on your Compliance Dept and make them monitor every staffers cell phones/text messages.

I realize it's easier said than done in hind-sight....but if a female investigator has daggers for you then you cover your arse. And you damn sure know WTF is going on within your program while you're program, coaches, players, recruits are getting questioned.

Well, it's probably best to immediately shite can anyone specifically named in a NOA. It can't help that y'all kept those folks on staff and the fools just kept on with their shite.

EMCC to the SEC! Lol

But seriously I wouldn't be surprised to see the NCAA give the Death Penalty to Ole Miss considering the fact they have been the most deserving candidate since SMU. Will they? probably not. But they might want the death penalty compared to the punishment they will get.

The SEC will have to evaluate Ole Miss once the Punishment comes out. Which might take another year.

Have you not listen to him, read the interview or the University's initial response. Yes "by the letter of the law" he was a booster all because he had season baseball tickets for 1 season 2 years prior to Freeze coming in as the HC. But he also knew Freeze from Arkansas State and took kids to other universities to visit. This isn't the big money booster giving out no-show jobs at a factory to family members (Yes we all know about that just like I know or a certain Furniture company doing that for a State players but I don't run around squealing like a premenstrual girl like you). Plus THIS WAS SELF REPORTED all over a 2* DT who's best offer prior was the Sun Belt Conference....but then again I am arguing with an idiot so I best stop before I lower myself to your level.

I don't understand the want or feel that Ole Miss deserves the death penalty for the violations they have been accused of by the NCAA.

Emmert and the NCAA need to look tough without coming down on Bammer's filthy arse program.

Bammer don't even hide the cheating, because Emmert is running cover for Saban.

Until Bammer is busted and given the death penalty NOBODY deserves any penalties or sanctions.

I have heard that the NCAA was surprised that Ole Miss has stood by Freeze and Bjork.
Evidently there is a strong possibility that Freeze sues the NCAA . Like McNair
did at USC. The problem for the NCAA is McNair was able to have all the emails and other correspondence from the investigation made public. Made the NCAA look very
bad. If I had to guess, I'd say Freeze survives , Ole Miss escapes the two year
bowl ban, but the scholarship reductions stick and do the damage.
