Alabama fans would bitch equally as much if it was them and in fact did so re: the bye week fiasco. Slive even tried to fix it for them in the "interests of fairness"

I'm wondering if he even knows who the REC is

I'm afraid there's not much hope in a fairer schedule for LSU.

Not this year, but every dog gets its day to hunt, if you know what I mean.

It took Slive long enough to fix it considering it lasted for years. I guess it took the absurdity of the 2010 season to finally get him to do something about.

I think its definitely one of the biggest rivalries in the last 2 years...

For it to remain a good rivalry, LSU needs to win this year....otherwise, its going to get lopsided

Again, it has been the biggest game, with the biggest BCS implications over the last couple of years. But that doesn't make it a college football rivalry.

The college football world and the vast majority of the Alabama fan base under 30 consider it a rivalry.

Nick Saban has reffered to it as a rivalry multiple times. So did Bear Bryant (Read "The Last Coach" for proof).

It's not Michigan-OSU but if it keeps going the way it's going it will be in 20 years.

I know some of you want to play the "you're not one of our rivals" card as a way to flame LSU but you're not fooling anybody.

Across from campus one of your eateries sells corn dogs as the "LSU special".

The last 3 or 4 times I've been up there the reception has been more and more hostile. Your students hang vulgar banners over the interstate overpass headed into town to welcome us.

It's not just another game for either team, there's significantly more tension and emotion every time out.

It's a rivalry.

Sure it does. You need to expand your definition of a college football rivalry.

Sorry, but I don't have a clue who the REC is.

I admit to being an ignorant heterosexual on that point.

No it doesn't. Check back with me in 20 or 30 years and I might change my mind. If I found my self rooting for LSU in this past Chick-fil-a Bowl, and then was ticked off when they let a freaking ACC team beat them, it is not a rivalry.

You can't handle the truth about who they are.

Second it has been a very big game for both programs since 2007 not 2008 but not a rival.
Third thing is I don't think that LSU is our rival but we are their rival because most of us pull for them to win when they aren't playing us. But I don't think most LSU fans pull for us when we aren't playing them.

I agree that if the series keeps up its current intensity for the next 20 years, then we can look at it as a true rivalry. But it is not one at this point in time, regardless of who called it one.

I didn't see your post back on page 6, but I think the fact that we are both saying the same thing shows how Bama fans feel about the series. We just don't hate LSU like they appear to hate us. So if it is a rivalry, it's a one sided rivalry. And I personally don't count half-arse rivalries as a true rivalry when my school already has enough true rivalries.

Heck I don't know why LSU fans are so dead set in trying to claim this is a true college football rivalry anyways . I thought they didn't believe in the importance of rivalries?

Oh, and I told ya he was good for a couple more pages.

Please tell me that you don't expect me to go back and add the word "most" to my statement. I figured most would realize it was implied.

as i said before: most alabama fans over 30 and under consider it a rivalry, most over that age don't.
