I think one of the main ingredients to a true football rivalry is that both teams hate each other. If your second favorite team isn't whoever is playing the team you are calling a rival, then they aren't your rival.
Most Bama fans I know don't hate LSU. It has been the game with the most at stake the past few years on Bama's schedule. But I don't think Bama fans hate LSU the same way we do the barn or Tenn. Now LSU fans on the other hand, they may actually be starting to hate Bama (especially if this board is any indicator of the LSU fanbase). But unless that hate is reciprocated, it isn't a true college football rivalry IMO.

Everybody flames Arky though and I would say for LSU it's Bama then Arky.
And again for Bama it's LSU #1 then AU and UT is way down the list. Once again, the whole reason this board exists is due to bama fans flaming LSU. That says an awful lot.

This whole "rivalry" thing is stupid. Every single person on here knows that every single team that plays LSU plays that game like it's their fricking super bowl. Everyone hates LSU. Everyone is our rival.

Even if I granted you Auburn (I'm not but just for the sake of argument) gets more shite from bama fans than LSU on here, it's not by much and you'd have to be blind to say that over the 6 years the SECr has been around that bama fans don't flame LSU quite a bit

Well you'd also have to be blind to think the sec rant is for anything but flaming...at least since i've been around.
Use this place as being indicative of fans general attitudes at your own peril.

True but in that there are themes that develop. Bama fans flaming LSU is close to the top of that list.

To a point you're right but its not as far removed as some try to act.
In my experience, the older bama fans don't hate LSU but the younger ones (30 and under) sure do.
