No he's guilty of a DUI according to the law.
no, he's not guilty of anything yet. He was arrested for DUI. He's gonna end up being guilty of public intoxication, or nothing at all

I mean how the hell would anyone possibly get to a car from a bar? Incidentally, all hand really is guilty of is public intoxication (which is what this will get plead down to), which he would also be guilty of if he walked home from a bar or even just left a bar and walked to the street corner to catch an Uber. It's impossible to drink at a bar and not be guilty of public intoxication if a cop chooses to be a bitch about it

The reports called it a parking lot on campus. I didn't know Alabama also has bars on campus too. I wondered if he walked, or had friends drop him off. If he got drunk at a bar, or at a frat party, etc.

No doubt. He would've been a slimeball at Texas, too. I don't think anyone disputes that. I think that's why a faction of the alumni who were Mack Brown supporters, like Joe Jamail, sabotaged the potential hiring. And Joe Jamail knew a slimeball when he saw one.
Dream on, clown. Saban doesn't need Texas (or any other school) to satisfy him. Besides, Saban doesn't kiss asses like Mack Brown did to have to keep his job...doesn't need to. Finally, Joe Jamail may know a slimeball when he sees one, but he damn sure ain't got a clue about what a fricking football coach looks like!

Seems like if someone is sober enough to know that he's too drunk to drive,

I'm starting to question whether you've been drunk before...

he would be sober enough to not turn on the vehicle, or turn it off once making the decision

A lot of people are unaware that putting the keys in the ignition makes it a DUI, and put the keys in for the AC

The strip is 5 feet from campus.

In the 3 seconds it takes to turn the car on and put it in gear?
In the 3 seconds it takes to settle into a nice, comfortable car seat. Has happened to me before, but I luckily didn't even have car keys on me, much less turned on the car. Again, the dude decides to sleep in the car after turning it on and putting it into gear? LOL, he was getting ready to head on down that lonesome road...

No he's guilty of it. Will he be determined guilty of DUI? Maybe not but he is guilty.

I would say 95% of people don't know that, because it's counter-intuitive. Every Tard in here will pretend like that's common knowledge though

I'm sorry, but this is a case of rewarding bad behavior so he can try to show that their discipline is getting thru. Saban wants us to believe that thru his influence, Hand did not drive, yet he was so drunk that he walked to his car, started it, turned the lights on and passed out.

I equate that to a shoplifter being stopped before he leaves the store with the merchandise stuffed in his pants , then his parents claiming he was going to pay for it.

What are y'all Roll Tards so upset that people think your coach is a slimeball?

I'll tell you the truth, too. I always thought Bear Bryant was a scuzzbucket. Without football, he would've been an alcoholic used car salesman.

Sleeping it off in the car when the only alternative is to drive intoxicated is not a good decision, but it is the least bad one.

You're trying a little too hard.

I think this thread has gone to 4 pages because people are trying to convince themselves that sleeping in your car should warrant a suspension... Huh?

Saban will be remembered for winning a lot of football games but being light on discipline. This coming from as LSU fan who very much appreciates what he did for LSU. In fact, I like the man. I just don't think he's tough enough on disciplinary issues.

You think he passed out between the time he cranked the car and he went to put it in gear? That usually takes all of about three seconds, so I'd guess he made the decision to not drive because he was too impaired.
