You can have the moral victories. We got the hardware.

USMC, you seem dumber than I first suspected. Please be kind enough to explain how the UGA poster referencing our wins the last 2 years and the all time series is some sort of moral victory.
Aren't moral victories reserved for close losses, like, I don't know, what the Gators have experienced the last 2 years in Jacksonville?

Georgia needs to bring in a big-time coach to change their in-state recruiting fortunes.
Oh please go on, who should we get?
This is such a dumb comment that I won't go in to but people see it and believe it blindly.

Where do you think Bama would be if they had not brought in Saban?
Richt seems like a nice guy, but does he have the fire and hunger to recruit in-state talent like Saban did to turn LSU into a perennial power for the first time in its history?

The situation that Bama was in is nothing like where UGA is right now with Richt...Bama went through some very rough years leading up to Saban...there is a reason he is seen as a savior...Richt has been consistently productive...just not enough to get us a title...the many coaches between Stallings and Saban...not so much...bad comparison bammer

I thought I read somewhere that usmc gator was stealing valor.

Watch what Jim Mora does at UCLA and what Brian Kelly is doing at Notre Dame.
Georgia as a state probably ranks fourth behind Florida, Texas and California in high school talent, but Richt can't match the talent levels of Bama, LSU, or Florida.
Before you know it, Spurrier's South Carolina will surpass Richt's Georgia for #2 in the SEC East.
Mack Brown at Texas is another Mark Richt. Both have states with all the talent in the world, but don't have the fire to go out and get it done.
They are both multi-millionaires living the life while their fans keep coming up empty.
As long as their fan bases don't have a problem with their lack of success, I guess they will continue what they are doing.

Georgia was good pre world war. Series has been even since then. Considering how we've not only destroyed them the last 20 years, but also won more titles than they have in their history. Time to step off that ledge my friend.
Don't try the we have five titles thing either.

Mississippi in a state that produces talent and close to others that have a lot. They have no pro teams to take money from them . They have made 2 bad hires and just destroyed what was something building.

I think it could at least be looked at. I mean Richt has done well, but at what point is coming up short enough? I mean I agree he's been given so bad hands, like 05 and 02. But still, he has been here long enough to get to a title game at least.
Coaches you could try for with Georgia's recruiting power and money
Gary Patterson - May as well try
Coach Peterson - Best coach in terms of what he does with little talent
James Franklin - Recruits would love this guy and he's taken Vandy out of the cellar which is NOT easy.
Charlie Strong- He said he wasn't leaving Louisville...for Tennessee or racist a** Auburn. But for Georgia? Possibly.
Georgia has top 10 money, a great fan base, great stadium, and insane recruiting grounds. I think you could grab one of thee guys very easily. NB4 Auburn isn't racist not claiming you actually are, but remember how many reports there were of there being problems because his wife was white? It could be the reason he stayed at Louisville. Even Barkley was saying it lol.

It's weird how we have had a boatload of starting quarterbacks that were/are black compared to many other SEC schools.
In fact, AU would have to have 3 injured QB's to get to the first white face at QB this year(Tubbs son- but I don't think he is eligible so KF might get the nod iif we lose NM,JJ, and JW). I guess hard core "racist" like to play "blacks" at QB

No hardware = moral victory.

Good analogy. Both coaches will retire from their schools insanely rich and seem content with just enough.

You do know that Texas was awful and an afterthought before Brown got to Texas? As was UNC? People think Texas was a powerhouse and was top 5 every year are just dumb or uninformed.

So this wasn't a major contributing factor? I mean I remember the rumors in 09 Gill had no chance because his wife was white. Even your own Alumni were calling you out on it. I said there were rumors, and may not be true. But it seems like others believed it.

yeah, Texas underperforms with all the resources at their disposal as well. That thread belongs on the MSB, doesn't matter who the coach is there.

What on earth? You're exaggerating pretty badly here... to the point that what you are saying is essentially nonsense.
UT went through a decade-long swoon (as all programs do) from the mid 80's through to '98 when Mack was hired. But to describe that program as awful and an afterthought before Mack (as if they were Florida, which WAS nobody before Spurrier) is ludicrous. Their all-time record is .726. That's second only to Michigan. They've been to 51 bowl games. That's also second all-time. They've been ranked during 85% of their seasons. They have 4 natties since 1960 and 32 conference championships. They're a natural powerhouse program, like Georgia. They should have been doing what Bama is doing now. Mack has been squandering all that because he's got no fire in his belly. The guy's just not a steely-eyed missile-man. Their teams and fans have taken on his lazy fat-cat good-ol-boy demeanor. Bama fans have more right to be lax than they do, but yet, while not the loudest, Bryant-Denny was still rocking when we (A&M) played them. Mack has a 100,000 seat stadium too, but his has the atmosphere of a dog show. Because that's how he is. Google their O-line at practice. Bunch of fat slobs, like their coach. No killer instinct to those squads, because Mack's sippin drinks in the shade. They get a ball-busting somebody in there with something to prove and watch out.
