eta - maybe UT since they've sucked for so long.
at least they have a BCST within the last 15 years. UGA, on the other hand....

Clearly A&M. We should have never have had the dark ages from 99 to 12.
I totally agree. Us SEC peopel have tunnel vision and do not look beyond this conference.
Texas A&M's suckitude for most of the last 15 years, between the BXII championship year in 1998 and last season was inexplicably bad. And even in the last years of the Southwest Conference when they were winning the conference title it wasn't leading to National Championship conterdership.

Georgia should be better than Tennessee based on in-state talent, so I can buy that we are more underachieving than them historically.
But would you really say the national title means they've had a better last 15 years than us?
Georgia has beaten them head to head 9 times in the last 15 years.
Georgia has won the SEC more than them
Georgia has won the SEC East more than them
Georgia has won 22 more games than Tennessee during that stretch.
I know this thread is a good chance to point out UGA's underachievement, but some posters have let that zeal turn them into a member of the flat earth society. My love for data allows me to get my Jimmies rustled too easily I guess.

Gotsta be UT...They are a sleeping giant. Hopefully, they stay asleep.

Auburn is an Agricultural school dominated by a liberal arts/research institution in Alabama. If anything Auburn has over achieved. UGA is consistently a power in the SEC. The only answer to this is Kentucky.

It's UG. With all their talent they should have won a NC since 1980 (a third of a century ago).
Reagan was President. Gas was under $1.00/gal. Parachute pants weren't raging yet. Members Only still meant GTFO if you ain't paying dues. The Rolling Stones didn't need walkers and canes and so on and so forth.

Bingo. The point of the thread

Not sure if it's us or not.
I mean, we overachieve at underachieving.
Is there another school that has more pre-season MNC than us? 33 and counting. I don't think so.
But here's the thing. There are so many threads started about UGA's perpetual underachieving in all things athletics, it begs the question:
Why are you all so dawgsessed?
Besides Bama fans, can't you all just worry about your own underachieving teams? We certainly don't need your help. Thanks though.

The sad fact of the matter - were it not for Nick Saban and the Post 2000 turnaround of this program it would be LSU BY A MILE.

No doubt it is UGA.
Georgia is an academically prestigious school in an attractive "cool" town and dominates a pretty talented state that sits atop an extremely talented state.
Nobody underachieves like them. A&M is in a talent-rich state, has money, academic prestige, and a large, dedicated fanbase, but lacks a winning tradition, is in an uncool city relative to its biggest rival for recruits, and is overshadowed as an institution and a program by the ultra-rich, ultra-well known Longhorns. So while A&M underachieves, it doesn't have the advantages Georgia has. Georgia is the UTw of Georgia, it should be doing better, just like UTw should...

As of the 2012 contest, Georgia leads with a 49–40–2 record by its reckoning,[1] and 48–40–2 by Florida's count.[3
This is the record of our series with Florida. So, does that make YOUR program underachieving, too, since we lead the series?

Georgia needs to bring in a big-time coach to change their in-state recruiting fortunes.
Looking forward, Tennessee will never be more than a second tier SEC program.

LSU. To be Bama's "equal" only one SEC Championship since 07 is embarrassing.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to him, he thinks discussing a game you won is a "moral victory".
Whatever, I'm cool with the Gators being satisfied with mocking us as "underachievers" after we've beat them 2 in a row and own the all time series lead (not to mention way more SEC titles). Suuuuuure, Gators, we are huge underachievers, glad you don't have to worry about that.
