What coach is going to want to come to LSU if 8-3 gets you fired?

Here you GEAUX - know some facts about a subject you choose to post on. You'll be surprised at the respect you may get if you choose to relate facts rather than your Bama BIAS and obvious jealousy of our program and the fear it must instill in you that we get a coach that will make our program stronger. Yes you would like us to keep the status quo, I get it. I smell fear in gumpland.

Hey, I've known some hotties that were 'band geeks', and remembering one right now that was a freak, if you know what I mean. Prom queens and cheerleaders are too high maintenance anyway... think a little too highly of themselves as well.

Yeah. You're about to fire your program's winningest coach after dropping five straight to Bama. We are terrified.

What's hysterical about all of these posts / threads is that all of these fans used to tell us that LSU was going to crap under Miles when Saban's players left.

You GUYS have bigger worries than what LSU is doing regarding a new coach. And FYI Indianapolis Colts are after him as well and USC. And rumor has it among his friends and trusted coaching friends he absolutely is miserable in Tuscaloosa. Imagine that dealing with the likes of you guys and worse. He is there for his 7 million a year and will leave whenever he chooses. And, we don't give a damn who you hire post Saban. And I for one really respect Saban like 90% of LSU faithful.

LSU is absolutely a top destination job. Anybody who doesnt think that is ignorant. Lots of in state talent. State school. Great facilities. Good school.

You are smoking crack if you don't think LSU is one of the best jobs in the country. We had two relatively unknown coaches come in back to back to win their first NC's while coaching LSU. Yeah, no one would be interested in us

I would take Les Miles in a heartbeat at GA Tech. LSU fans are retarded. Les Miles is a terrific coach and human being. You LSU fans won't know what you had until it's gone. That's for sure.

This is the same shite that has been said for 8 years straight. Team X will pay whatever it takes to get Saban. Yet he is still there and is embarrassing and breaking your team year after year.

Truth is LSU is great coaching job, easily top 10 just on the recruiting end, facilities, fan support and conference.

Les Miles is a damn good coach who hit a rough spot and has the misfortune of having to go head to head with a juggernaut in Saban at Alabama.

There are several good jobs coming open this year which will make a home run hire especially difficult.

LSU would be wise to stick with Les and give him time to turn things around but they won't.

They are taking a huge chance in making this move not to mention the buyout will make it even more difficult to correct a bad decision (see Gus Malzhan).

Who do they get better than Les? Honestly, if I had to hire Alabama's coach today I'd take Les over Jimbo, but that's just me.

I doubt they get Jimbo and if they don't, who is worth the gamble? If Kelly leaves Philly he's going to USC. many others like Fuente, Herman ect are guys who have had one good year.

Stallings, Solich, Fulmer... All good examples of how impatience can neuter a great program.

Spot on.

Arguably, in the landscape of today's college game... the most important factor is RECRUITING. the maxim is that the team that puts the most raw talent on the field will win 80% of their games. Period.

Les has done exceptionally well at recruiting. There is no guarantee that a future coach will be half as competent. So despite his coaching strategy mistakes along the way, he literally puts LSU in a position to win the vast majority of their games before the coin flip even happens. Just pure statistics based on recruiting.

Now, would I like Les to stay at LSU? Absolutely. And in the same way that a lot of SEC schools wanted us to keep Mike Shula. But, I can say so from a position of also having a head coach on our staff every bit as good at recruiting.

But having said that, it's obvious that Les is a great guy. You guys have never had a problem with the program under his leadership, he's never embarrassed the school, he recruits well, has a great family image, and has actually had good success with a national championship. I honestly think he's a benefit to the SEC and we're better off because of it. I'd love to see LSU retool some position coaches, adjust some strategy, and be patient. I think you guys will be just fine over the long run. Les has a lot of successful years of coaching left, and frankly, LSU could do a LOT worse.

Anyway, JMHO. I like the guy. If he ended up leaving LSU, I hope he ends up in a spot in college football where he is still visible. He's good for the game.

I hear Mike Ditka, Jimmy Johnson and John Gruden are all licking at the chops to coach LSU next season. They are impressed with LSU's fan base the most.

One redeeming thing is that you can be a legend at LSU. Probably the only top 5 program where that spot isn't forever taken.

You really are conflicted about what you say and what you seem to feel. You said earlier we can't make a better hire NO ONE will want to come to LSU.We are stupid to think we should fire Miles. Few minutes later rumors of Saban being sought after is destroying LSU's program. The very definition of insanity. Throw accusations and innuendo out there with no basis in fact reflects
your complete moronic shallowness or perhaps a adjective you better understand ignorant and stupid.
