LSU can't seem to compete with Arkansas either. They got the wheels blown off for the second year in a row. There are many other issues, such as why does the offense look bad? Why does the defense look bad? Why does special teams look bad? Why is there no sense of urgency during the game? Why so many delay of game penalties? Why can't they call a play in from the sidelines? Why can't they ever adjust in any area? Why can't they ever have a decent QB not developed under some other coach or program? I could go on for a long time on this. It's beyond losing to Alabama at this point.

Read Jacknola's few posts in this thread. All those ?'s you have appear to be very deep seeded in this LSU program. And you have a leader/HC that is mentally and egotistically unable to change.

But how do you get rid of CLM without having some kind of idea or guarantee that his successor will do better?

The next HC will have to make a drastic culture change in that locker room and will apparently have to re-tool the recruiting as well as bring in a whole new offensive scheme. Man that could take YEARS to accomplish.

LSU's in a quandry.

Or, just turn around the last two weeks to the positive just as fast as it went to the negative, win the bowl game and everything is fine! We are a very young team and with the strong possibility of pulling in a top 3 recruiting class things would settle down a bit. But, if he would continue the same slide again next year in November then talk around here could get very uncomfortable.

Since we are playing the "if" game then if we lets say lose the next two games then things become very real indeed! I would hate for Miles to have to go out this way and not on his own terms.

another one that thinks we can just hire any coach. We already played this game with Charlie Mac and that led to a long time of not winning much at all.

Dude really? Do you have any idea how much college football has changed since that time? LSU is second to Bama in the SEC as far as a desired place to coach and if anyone things different they are kidding themselves. We complete against no one else with in our state, period!

This article doesn't really address the real issue. His age. You gotta figure if everything goes great he could coach for four or five years more tops at this level. Its unlikely he will be fired. Particularly before the current group of recruiters gets a year or two to build up the lines of scrimmage again. This article probably is a Bama funded attempt to derail recruiting and nothing more.

I don't think LSU can hire anyone. But I do realize that we are in a new time period, unlike you apparently. Some of you need to realize that LSU is considered one of the top jobs in all of college football. Because it's the truth.

Wouldn't be a bad idea . He is not that great. With the talent that team has , they should win a lot more then they have.

situations are not even remotely comparable. UT's biggest problem is the rise of the other SEC and ACC programs around them. They relied on recruiting nationally, that became much harder once other schools started locking up their borders.

This is the stupidity that is fueling this. People just think that LSU can hire just about anyone they want. Unlike Nebraska, Penn St, etc.

don't do it, LSU. Trust me. I have seen a very bad fire destroy a program and it isn't easy to get it back. This could easily back fire on you guys if you go through with it.

I know what you mean. Alabama should have kept Shula. And Florida Zook. And OSU picked up Meyer. Look what happened to those programs ... complete catastrophe.

I think that is very fair. After Les and Saban the LSU job is a better job than it has ever been.

What some fans don't realize though is that this a new time period for college football as well, when the money/opportunity is pretty much the same for every program in the top 15 of programs. You simply aren't going to see a coach at a place like FSU leave for a place like LSU because of the money or because it's a slightly better job, it would have to be because of some sort of personal conflict with the AD.

LSU fans aren't alone in that, the Rant is filled with Mizzou and South Carolina fans who treat Herman like a rope in a tug of war game when the most likely outcome after this year is he signs an extension at Houston. The only real splash hires left are getting guys who are coming back from the NFL ala Saban or Harbaugh which isn't an every year thing. Out of all the big jobs that might open in the next three years- USCw, maybe LSU, maybe Texas, probably Georgia, maybe Auburn- only one of those jobs is going to get the only splash hire on the map (Chip Kelly). If that isn't a sobering thought for elite programs facing coaching changes I don't know what is.
