Does LSU have $13M lying around to buyout the contract?

Yeah. As disturbing of an amount as that is for firing a football coach, we have it. And it's amortized anyway.

They aren't getting rid of Miles this year no matter what happens. If anything, he leaves to go coach elsewhere.

LSU is not firing Miles after this season, even if they lose the last 2 games AND and the bowl game. He will be on the hot seat next year and he might replace Cameron (not likely) but they will NOT fire him after this season.

BDP should have been fired 3 weeks into the season as the special teams coach.

I have a love hate relationship with Miles....I wanted him fired when they were 7-0 about 6 or 7 years ago.

If Mark Richt still has a job at Georgia, how can LSU fire Miles?

That's my thought as well.

LSU has a ton of inherent advantages but they play in the toughest division in the toughest conference and the coach has to meet the demands of a very mercurial fanbase.

Sorry, but I trust a newspaper reporter with AD contacts, one who has to put his name on what he writes every day, over what you, an anonymous internet poster with no sources has to say.

Miles may be done for after this weekend. Ole Miss has had an extra week to get healthy and prepare, they still have a slim chance to win the West, and they are at home. If they lay an Arkansas caliber arse-whipping on LSU it probably won't matter what happens against A&M.

don't do it, LSU. Trust me. I have seen a very bad fire destroy a program and it isn't easy to get it back. This could easily back fire on you guys if you go through with it.

Nebraska is shite because they have no recruiting base. LSU will always have talent.

I don't think that matters much for LSU. They'll get who they want. No one's going to Miami or Mizzou over LSU.

Is that columnist Rabalais some sort of program insider? Unless he's taking in saunas with the AD and university president on a regular basis, I don't buy what he's saying here.

The honest question I have ALWAYS had about LSU under Miles, is why they never seem to have a QB worth a damn. I know there have been some off field issues with one of them, and one or two brought some ability from HS. But NONE of them ever seem to get any better. Miles just not know how to hire a good QB coach? Or use one when he has one? Obviously you have to be able to throw at least some in this conference to maximize your potential as a team.

Arkansas went through much the same with Nutt a.k.a. the quarterback killer

Yeah, I don't know. I mean, Bama has only had one QB I'd consider "good" in the Saban era, but he usually has guys like McElroy who can at least manage the game and not lose it. Miles has had a ton of terrible QBs in his time at LSU.

The article does seem like click-bait for the LSU fans.

You're right.....sports reporters are never wrong and they never sensationalize anything either.

History and common sense tells me that the winning-est coach in LSU's history will not be fired after this season......even if a large portion of the fan base thinks he should be.

I would be SHOCKED if Miles got fired at the end of the season.

Maybe... Maybe not. Do you want to wrestle hulk hogan? Box mike Tyson? Coach head to head in the same division as saban?

Has to be said

Either posters on here have very short memories or posters on here have only now begun watching LSU football. If Miles does, in fact, get canned within the next 1-2 years, it will have been years in the making not a few late-season games in 2015.

I have a very simple answer for you.....they recruit dual threat quarterbacks and then put them under center and make them drop back pro-style qb's.

Reporters are often wrong. They speak of anonymous sources that can never be verified and suffer no consequences if they miss on the story.
The next week he may even write of Miles success and how he will be around for a long time.
The public has a short attention span and changes opinions with the wind. Media has no scruples and very little respect.

I agree, it would have to be an accumulation of things, not just the end of 2015. Folks are pissed - but are the "right" folks pissed?

And how do you fire a great man like Les when he is the best coach the program has ever had?

Arnsperger was no slouch by the way and Dinardo would have been fine if he had gotten rid of the idiot Tepper. Bo Rein never coached a play. (plane crash) A smart retired Bama coach used to say u dont get fired in the SEC for having a bad season but having a bad reason while your rival has a good one. Fans get coach envy.

The Ryan Perilloux deal is what has really Killed Miles, in my opinion, and the pick 6 year that followed. (Just like Satan and The Dophins not taking Brees killed Saban in the NFL). Scared to discipline players and scared to throw the ball.
