And….. here’s why you can easily discount their past. Nebraska was also once upon a time great just like OU. They move out of the Big 12 to the Big Ten and they are mediocre at best. Arkansas had a really nice history until they moved to the SEC in 1992. Since then, they have an all-time losing SEC conference record.
Let’s wait 10 years and see just how good OU is when they have to face a significantly more difficult schedule.
There's no doubt OU beat up on a bunch of pansies on their way to Big Eight titles.
But they've done so much more than that.

No. None of OU's previous success will count toward anything in the SEC.

16 of those 21 came prior to the conference re-alignment. Tennessee was a vastly superior program during that era, so it's not out of the ordinary at all.
LSU leads 7-5 in the modern era. We also have won 7 out of the last 10.
So basically, I don't really care about ancient games from the 30's and 40's. LSU has had the upperhand in current times.

I forgot LSU didn't start playing football until 2000.

I don't recall saying they did. I am responding to the 21-10 record as a major metric for the rankings. There are many other things that also work in Tennessee's favor besides that. The record paints an inaccurate picture.
I also never said we are ahead of Tennessee.

OU has played only one less game against a ranked opponent than Georgia, and the 12th most all time. Hardly a reason to disqualify them from the conversation.

Arkansas could prove its football prowess these last 30 years without bringing SoutWest conference championships with them. So can Oklahoma. But neither will ever be spoken of in the same breath as historically great SEC teams.

14. Georgia- 550
16. Florida- 499
At that time, Florida and LSU had 3 National Titles, Auburn and Tennessee had 2. And Georgia had just one.
Georgia was easily 6th out of 6. Not until UGA won its second title in 2021 did they pull ahead of Auburn and Florida.

If AP points and MNCs are your criteria, this makes sense. What about other data points?
