I don't understand threads like this at all. I personally do not care who is pulling for Auburn or FSU. What does getting answers to the OP accomplish?

im pulling for fsu because: 1. i don't have a problem with them and like them better than auburn.

It's not about conference pride, it's about a brand..
A brand that sells conference, 14 schools, recruits, media, pollsters,etc..
How the sheep don't see what has largely become "NFL-esque Jr" in the eyes of tv viewers across America. And painted as such even by NFL scouts, former player/analysts, tv/radio guys,etc..
Thus, to the benefit of all SEC Programs, despite other conferences somewhat holding their own vs SEC in Bowl games(albeit aided via handicapped scheduling somewhat)..
For those that can't see fellow SEC teams winning these games as helping overall, far more so than hurting(via conference foes rise in stature), I don't know if you'll ever understand.
Once there was Bama, and Tenn, with an LSU, UM, UGA, Aub title here and there, then came Fla. But, in and around there were plenty of title winners from all corners of the country in other seasons.
Now, 'SEC SEC SEC' doesn't take a year off, it calls to be answered every single year, it's flat out fatigued the rest of America. Created somewhat a line-of-demarcation in play level, that only dare say an fellow SEC-esque southern heavyweight with a staff full of Saban disciples may have the answer for?
It's like being an NFL/MLB/NBA team owner,etc..sure there are pissing contests within behind the closed doors of their premier leagues..but you are sitting with a stake at THE BIG BOYS TABLE!
Phil Ivey built up his warchest & was sitting amongst Doyle, Chip, Andy Beal, Greenstein,etc..in The Big Game. But, it like all great things can fizzle out(Chip died, some money dried, folks get old,etc..)..so you enjoy the run of greatness while you can..because life is cyclical..nothing lasts forever.
It's not PRIDE, it's PRODUCT, it's COMMODITY, it's BRAND!

I don't have to pull for Auburn because I know they will win. I also have a lot of Auburn customers so a win for the barn is beneficial to me personally.

After reading a lot of the replies in this thread, I find it quite funny that a majority of barners (ones I know in real life, not necessarily the rant variety) were rooting for the gumps against LSU. Now every gump I know is out there buying FSU shirts.....gumps rooted for Oregon, and now FSU. Yet barners are still out there trying to get "SEC" support. Frick the SEC, frick the barners, and Geaux Noles.
