FSU is actually closer to my hometown in lower Alabama, than is Auburn University or the University of Alabama. I've been to their games, and am friends with plenty of their fans and alumni. That's reason enough to casually root for them and do it for a legit reason, not because I'm butthurt.

Hell, I'm all AU in this one!

I'm cheering for AU especially hard because frick FSU but I would've cheered for the SEC as long as it wasn't UGA or UT in the championship game.

I like teams...not conferences...despite what everyone thinks, I'm not totally anti-SEC.
I like Auburn and UT. And will pull for Aubbie this year.
I would never ever ever root for UCLA to win the National Title - ditto for Cal.
I would root for Oregon (sister is an alum and UDub because it's a cool arse school and the Zona schools because they never win shite.)

You have consistently displayed a certain level of antipathy and vitriol towards the SEC and moreso toward the Deep South region in general, that would strongly (if not certainly) suggest a preconceived bias against a certain populace of your fellow man.

I just don't get the "SEC, rah-rah" - and respond in kind to that.
Like I said, frick UCLA and certain Pac-12 schools that are my rivals.
I like Aubbie...and never was an FSU fan growing up.
