What is the name of the coach at Central Florida?
O'Leary will retire at UCF, and the guy that's getting popular, Brent Key, will most likely take over when he steps down.

no way in hell
Spurs is closer to retiring than he is to rebuilding another program
Plus, I really think TOBC is holding on for long enough to win a championship of some sort at SC and then he turns into a full time golfer...

You might be right. I don't know Spurrier very well (as a public figure). I just know he's a UF legend and UF can drown him in money in ways USCjr can't.

SS is content at SC and he's going to take another job at his age anyway

Definitely some worry in UNC land that if Fedora has a good season, and Muschamp is fired, UF may come a knocking. At least, this time (as opposed to when UT hired Mack), we have an AD that gets big time football. We wouldn't lose Fedora because of money, it would be because UF is a better job. In other words, UNC would fight to keep him.

Nope, Spurrier is the only candidate.

Works for me.
I doubt that will be the case. Schools that put all their eggs in one basket tend to get burned.
UF will likely follow the Texas model: go hard after their # 1 choice (Spurrier?) but simultaneously pursue lots of back up options.
I just can't see Spurrier leaving USC at this stage of the game.

Malzahn at Florida would just be ridiculous.
Sumlin could be but I'm not sure that would be UF's best fit.
Mora would be another great fit but he would be hard to pull from the west coast I think.
Fedora stepped into a damn mine field and I'm not sure even good coaching would be enough for him to get the job next year. And if we are talking about UF looking for next year, Fedora would be a tough hire with all the B.S. at UNC that really has nothing to do with Fedora's tenure.

Has a coach ever returned to his Alma Mater after all these years and having such success as he did?

but I'd go for Malzahn and Sumlin before moving to him.
Is this some kind of a joke? There's no reason to leave either of those schools for Florida.
Maybe they can get Saban
Florida's a better job than Auburn and TAMU- it's like Les moving from a good job at Okie State to a great one at LSU, coaching at one of the top 5 jobs is huge.

Spurrier isnt going to Florida. U can forget that. Spurrier has taken both an avg Florida program and now a below avg USCe program to brand new heights.
He has to be chuckling at the decline at Florida.
He wanted the job at Florida and they told him, u can come and interview for it! Talking about a slap in the face. He told them to shove it up their ahole. Hence, he never came for the interview and now look at both programs.
OBC is one of the tough guys of the SEC. Much respect on how this man lives his life.

This is complete crap...He didn't want to return to Florida because he accomplished everything he wanted to do there. Going to USC gave him a chance to challenge himself by building a program into a national power.

We have one Murphy's Law type of bad year and it's a decline, that funny.

Mullen is 1-1 against UGA at State. I could easily see him owning you again at Florida.

Why though? Looking for something higher profile or just something with him?
he's the biggest MSU topic troll on the board. Probably because Mullen owns OM.

An LSU fan telling someone to get a clue. That's rich.

I think they could do better than Mullen
At some point Mullen needs to win a game against someone of significance even at MSU

It didn't happen. It was nothing more than an internet rumor when Meyer got hired.

After this supposed incident took place, UF went on to win 2 national titles. I think everyone involved is OK with how it worked out.

The University of Florida was in the process of taking applications for a new coach after Spurrier's successor at Florida, Ron Zook, was fired following the 2004 season. The timing seemed perfect for Spurrier's return to the Gators and Spurrier initially said that he wanted to be considered for his old job, but later removed his name from consideration stating that "12 years at Florida was probably long enough."
Wanted to be considered...changed his mind...
1-0 for the Kajun
Decline: to slope downward (indicates a pattern)
Declines can not happen in 1 year...we went from 11-2 to 4-8. If we have another down year, I will agree that there is a decline, but we are not to that point yet.
2-0 for the Kajun
Thanks for playing
