Florida sucked last year, and Boom has yet to prove that he's up to the job.
If you want to talk about how good your roster is, or how great a place to coach it is in Gainesville, then by all means, start a thread.
If you want to see people stop speculating about Will Muschamp, all he has to do is win. And the louder you defend him, the more obvious it is that you have your doubts.

Yes, Florida sucked last year.
However, do you know why they sucked?

Because Boom is a plant instructed by Evil Richt to destroy the Florida program from within.

Florida's DNA is offense. Just like Bama's DNA is defense. I think when a program tries to go away from what has traditionally made them successful, things typically won't work out. There are always exceptions though.
I don't know why this perception exists. Our best teams the past 10 years have been led by dominant defenses, not high-octane offenses. 2006, 2009 and 2012 for sure. 2008 was more balanced.
2006 was defensively led but had a top 30 offense as well, 2009 had both a top 10 offense and a top 10 defense.
2012 wasn't a great Florida team, I'd take 2009,2008, 2006, 2001, 1996,1995, and possibly 1997, 1994, 2000 and 1999 over it-- At best 2012 was the 7th best Florida team in the last 20 years it hung no banners was an eye sore to watch and was ultimately forgettable.

Florida's next coach will be Malzahn or Sumlin IMO. Or maybe Jim Mora.
Well I just don't see Sumlin moving from aTm (in a state where he has some ties) to UF. He's having no problems recruiting in Texas. Plus, I don't see UF being able to outbid aTm.
Malzahn would also be a tough pull. Granted he would be going to the top school in a recruiting rich state. But he seems to fit in pretty well in Auburn. Plus UF would have to offer him Saban level money to outbid Auburn.
Mora may also be a tough pull, but probably not near as tough as the previous two. But he has a good thing going currently at UCLA. And if UCLA decides to really invest in their football facilities, then that would make it an even tougher pull.
Spurrier is just too old at this point I think. He would be a very short term solution. And Briles has deep ties to Texas and Texas high schools. I don't see him wanting to leave that state. And I think Petrino is pretty much off limits to SEC schools, plus his buyout is like $10 mil or something ridiculous like that.
Gundy would be an interesting choice. Didn't he flirt with Tenn back when they hired Butch? He would be dumb not to consider it, and UF would be dumb not to give him a look. Strong would've been the perfect candidate if he hadn't gone to Texas, but now that is no longer an option. So outside of Gundy, I don't see a really viable coach that I'd consider an excellent/slam dunk hire.

If Muschamp goes, I think UF throws a ton of money at Chad Morris. UF has always had their best years with an offensive innovator at the helm. Just a guess though.
No more coordinators.

If I were the Gators I'd want Pat Fitzgerald, Gary Patterson, or (now that someone has mentioned it) Larry Fedora.

OBC is getting a little long in the tooth. He had his hey day at Florida and is well revered at USCe. I think if he is smart, he retires from the field and takes on a TV job like Holtz did. Spurrier would be awesome on TV I think.

They won't go for another gritty defensive guy if Muschamp fails (actually succeeds)

possible. I think Gundy would get a look.

Mullen is supposably an arse. I heard Tebow almost did not go there because of him. So idk. I don't think anyone wants him cause otherwise he would have left a long time ago
