After this supposed incident took place, UF went on to win 2 national titles. I think everyone involved is OK with how it worked out.

Internet rumor eh. Thats funny. Did he interview for the job? If not why didnt he? Answer that or stfu.

So you would take Urban over Spurrier, if given the chance again?

He did not. He withdrew his name from consideration...

The University of Florida was in the process of taking applications for a new coach after Spurrier's successor at Florida, Ron Zook, was fired following the 2004 season. The timing seemed perfect for Spurrier's return to the Gators and Spurrier initially said that he wanted to be considered for his old job, but later removed his name from consideration stating that "12 years at Florida was probably long enough."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

True

Any idea what mightve transpired between I want the job and never mind ive spent enough time playing and coaching there? Im waiting!

Wanted to be considered...changed his mind...

Not true, he wanted the job offer on the spot; not to be "considered" for it. He did change his mind after being told sure come on in and interview for it. He couldve took some shots at the instituition that he had given so much to or he could take the high road and say what he did.

Whatever makes u sleep at night. He didnt want to be "considered" he felt like he didnt have to be "considered".
Believe what u want. And if u cant see the difference TODAY between the 2 programs well Im not sure what else to tell ya.

Lets be realistic here.

UF is a top notch job and they aren't going to pursue Mullen.

I would imagine they will put out some feelers to some high level coaches (Sumlin, Malzahn, and Mora). Mora you might get, Malzahn I doubt, but there isn't a chance Sumlin leaves. A&M will match (hes already at 5mil) $$$$, plus Sumlin might arguably have the best facilities within the SEC in a state that he already owns recruiting wise (and has recruited for the last 10 years).

Now, Fedora, Gundy, Briles, etc. are next tier options that I could see Florida getting. Despite not wanting a coordinator, Chad Morris would be an excellent hire.

In 2004, between the 2004 version of Urban and Spurrier? Meyer, without question. I love Spurrier, but I doubt he would have replicated Meyer's success.

It has been provided why he didn't interview. You are the one saying something happened that didn't, where is your proof that it did? Also, we had been in contact with Meyer since the middle of the season, he was very clearly the target from day one.

I'm glad you know beyond a shadow of a doubt what someone is thinking...you should go into the psychology field.

"When I departed three years ago, there were several reasons why I believed it was time to move on. Other than simply wanting to coach in the NFL some day, I also believed that 12 years at Florida was probably long enough."

Straight from the OBC.

I can understand you still being butt-hurt about UF owning the SEC during his tenure, but it's time to let the 90's go.

We arent talking about when he took the Redskin gig? Too funny.

Psychology field. Nope, try again.

I know why he left Fla to take the Redskin gig as well , but I will refrain.

Butt hurt from the 90's? Yeah, thats it, u got me.

Incorrect Again. Thats the whole point , u chose that pussy over the OBC.
The OBC aint never coming back, forget that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, I guess 7-6 (3-5) is not a bad season over there anymore. Have it your way. It is a winning season out of conference.

No shite Sherlock. Gator fans don't want him back at this point. I would have been fine if he was brought back after Zook but that didn't happen and the rest, as they say, is history.

Cover up arrests? I'm curious. How do you cover up arrests when they are public record? Is that possible in LA? It's not possible here and clearly the GPD and UFPD have no issues arresting players.

When you get this mad do you make up shite all the time?

ETA: The answer to the OP is no.

Multiple sources told Sporting News that Meyer—who won two national championships in six years at Florida and cemented his legacy as one of the game’s greatest coaches—told the Diggs family that he wouldn’t let his son go to Florida because of significant character issues in the locker room.

Character issues that we now know were fueled by a culture Meyer created. Character issues that gutted what was four years earlier the most powerful program in college football.

— Ranking college football coaches: Where does Urban Meyer stand?

It was Meyer who declared the Florida program “broken” at the end of his last regular season game in Gainesville in November of 2010. But why was it broken?

“Over the last two years he was there,” one former player said, “the players had taken complete control of the team.”

Only now, through interviews with multiple sources during a three-month Sporting News investigation, do we see just how damaged the infrastructure really was and how much repair work second-year coach Will Muschamp has had to undertake in replacing Meyer—who has moved on to Ohio State less than a year after resigning from Florida for health reasons.

But its all hearsay. Peace.

You type like Sherlock's 11 year old daughter.

Reading along won't change your Sherlock worthy declaration. No shite. You don't say. Spurrier won't coach at UF. No forking way.
