Well we can definitely say without any doubt he can coach up his talent at QB.

I know Morris' name, but on phone and had brain freeze. My bad. I will tell you with extreme confidence that Mullen is neither highly thought of, nor feared, in coaching circles. Firing him - or encouraging him to take a job elsewhere (say, Arizona, for example) - would not hurt MSU's chances with future hires.

MSU is an SEC job. There are only 13(ish) of those in the country. They'll pay $2.5M+. You CAN win there. MSU could do better. What makes State fans think so higjly of Mullen? Is it because he is your's? What has he done to inspire any confidence in your program long-term?

Ya why Chad Morris? He's basically the same thing as Mullen

Except Morris has an explosive offense averaging more than Dan has at any time in his career when Tebow wasn't his QB, he is a better recruiter, and he is widely regarded as having an extremely bright future.

You have to Understand we are Mississippi State. NOT Alabama. We don't have the resources, facilities, or money you do.

Dan Mullen I'd doing a Damn Good job IMO

And the guys on your list NONE have been head coaches other than Rich Rod and HUD who just lost to a terrible WKU team. I wouldn't pay $2.5 million to guys like Morris, Diaz, HUD or yalls DC

You really believe Morris' offense could put up big numbers vs SEC defenses ????
And could compete in recruiting vs Bama, LSU, Auburm, etc...

I'd like to wait on that.

Let's see how he can do that in the SEC.

Sure he put up big numbers but I'd compare that to Like Dana Holgorsen putting up great numbers in the Big12.

I'm mostly comparing this to NOW.
Give him a few years.

The SEC is the closest there is to the NFL defensively. It's hard to put up big offensive numbers unless you have a first round QB or RB. State and Mullen have neither.

Ya all those Offensive Guys that they just got this year and the year before that were Brad Scott and Dabo.

It's also MUCH more difficult to recruit at Miss State than Clemson

How can this be fixed?

We won 9 games last year, Ole Miss won 4 yet they had a better recruiting class

Oxford> Starkville

Traditionally:

Ole Miss> Miss St.

Am I wrong there?

keep winning, and locking up the state first.
I don't know too much about overall talent in the state of Mississippi but I'd think the Talent in South Carolina is better, right?

and Clemson recruits Florida really well.

For them it's also easier to sell that they have an easier road to a Conference Championship and Possible national title game if they finish undefeated.

How can State recruit better?

If I had that answer for you I'd be a genius and be coaching/recruiting director somewhere, (well after I graduated college)

Honestly it's fallen in place for us, the State got more Talented, and the East had a few down years.

From watching the Mississippi State vs USCe game you have to admit we have similar talent especially on defense. The difference is y'all can recruit key skill position players at RB, WE, and QB

Oh I agree completely.
(we got another WR/Athlete coming in, watch out for Shaq Roland next year--Sammy Watkins if he plays WR)

Well except the QB part, Spurrier has yet to really develop a successful QB so far.
But the jury is still out with shaw.

Seriously though, I actually thought Croom was going to give State a big push in recruiting

Croom gave us a hell of a push in cruitin'. The problem is his fat arse didn't know what to do with them when he got them there.
