I wasn't even necessarily disagreeing with his list, just his logic. He pretty much solely based his argument off of being "THE" state institution, and not having to fight too hard for in state recruits yet his top two were Texas and USC which obviously have many other great institutions to compete with in state.

not saying all Alabama or LSU fans are horrible, but lets be honest, the ones you will be compelled to interact with will be the worst, and the worst of those schools. omg.

I don't think Bama is a top 5 job, but it is a top 5 program. That is due to a century of overachievement.

pretty solid list. I think I would rank Oregon and UF over UGA

You don't have UF in your top 30? I'm assuming that is some sort of mistake.

I understand we had a couple of down years, but without a doubt it is a top 10 job most would put in the top 5. There have been 2 anonymous polls by NCAA coaches and both named UF the #1 job in the country.

Everyone is overstating the recruiting aspect, there is enough talent in Florida for us to share and when the Florida schools are winning, the out of state schools are much less of an issue.

I'd have LSU at least in the Top 3 or 4 for several simple reasons:

1. No in-state competition for recruits.
2. Louisiana is near the top in the country (per capita) in blue-chip high school talent annually.
3. Facilities are near the top, and are continually
reviewed for whatever is needed.
4. Fan support. NO place beats Tiger Stadium
5. Baton Rouge is a family-friendly but large college town that offers great neighborhoods and communities and excellent schools; as well as churches, activities, events etc.
6. The food is almost as good as New Orleans.
7. is the ultimate challenge for a college head coach and is insanely rewarding if successful.
8. Perks as far as contacts, media, social, clubs, alumni and foundations, golf courses and clubs, TV exposure.
9. LSU spirit which is pervasive throughout the university not just in its excellent athletic endeavors but its reputation for mid-management and graduate salaries, several Top 10 programs and curricula, and the ForeverLSU Campaign.
10. The prototype academic center in the nation - Cox Academic Center for Athletes - featured prominently in national publications and circles.
11. One of the best Compliance Departments in the NCAA.
12. The Golden Girls.

Compete in what? Recruiting?

L.O.L. if you think the falcons are even 1/20th as popular in GA as UGA

Why Ohio St ? Ohio is not the greatest recruiting hotbed. Look at what it take to be successful since Woody Hayes was there.

Now that most of the country's population is shifting toward the South, those Big 10 jobs are going to get much harder.

Ohio State just won a National title. They did it with:

4 starting OL from Ohio
2 of the 3 QBs from Ohio
2 starting WRs from Ohio
1 TE who split time as a starter from Ohio

3 of the starting 4 DL from Ohio
2 of the starting 3 LB from Ohio
2 of the starting 4 DB from Ohio

Add in Jalin Marshall who ended up as a starter from Ohio that is a ton of starters out of that state

I'm not saying you can only recruit Ohio and win all the time, but if you can lock down Ohio, you will likely be top 10 talent every year

Rivalry Application denied.

But I will try to explain it to you.

Pays Top 15 in the country ...

Fertile recruiting ground ...

Top-notch facilities ...

Has had Hall of Fame coaches for the past fifteen years and counting ...

Member of the SEC ...

Passionate, loyal fans. Legendary fans actually ...

Expectations not too high, not too low ...

Then I'll ask you to name those I ranked below SCAR who are better destination jobs, in your idiot opinion, than SCAR.

Georgia, easily

Your administration has shown they don't know how [or aren't willing to do what it takes] to win at the next level.

At the front of it thanks to the SEC boost, Texas recruiting, and our new facilities.

I would rather coach at Texas A&M than Nebraska for example.

But behind GA, FL, TX, and CA by a WIDE margin, and probably behind OH, LA, and others as well.

If the "next level" is a national title, true our current head coach has not won a national title as a head coach. We've won at every other level though, and your coach has only won at the "next level" by having the most lucky set of circumstances of any coach in the BCS era. Congrats.
