Yeah but how many AU fans loved him when the streak was at 6 over BAMA?

Most if not all of us.

But when Nick Saban made him GIVE THE frick UP, we knew it was time for him to go.

Does Bo Jackson (a lifelong BAMA fan)go to Auburn if BAMA is not facing sactions [sic], or has The Bear as the coach.

Answer that question.

Yes. Bo wanted to play RB and play as a freshman. BAMA told him he would probably be on defense and that playing early probably wasnt going to happen. Bo went to Auburn to play running back. Not the same situation as with Carnell. He would have played rb at BAMA immediately but he knew some lean years were coming and took the easy way out.

the easy way? Don't you mean the more intelligent way? It was definitely in his better interest to go to AU for all the reasons you listed above. Seeing that he was a top 10 pick, i'd say he made the right choice.

Actually I clearly remember a LOT of talk from the Bama camp at the time of Williams recruitment about how he might have been a better safety than a RB.

I agree it was the right choice. The "easy way" comment was a dig at AU. Point was the Bo and Cadillac recruitment comparison was not a good one. They chose Auburn for different reasons. And if anybody thought that Cadillac was going to be a good safety in college they had to be on something. Wasnt he the #1 rated RB in high school?

yea, he was definitely the #1 back in the state. However, he probably would have made a damn good safetey. If you've ever seen his high school film at all, he was dominant there as well.

This thread got off point. Mostly because of me but it made for some good discussion in there. The OP is a flame but it does bring up the fact that there are alot of AU fans who are under the impression that the troubles at Auburn are 1 year and a new D.Coor. away from being fixed. I say look at the numbers a think objectively. Many delusional AU fans are thinking that a team who is going to strugle to be .500 this year and currently has the 117th ranked D is going to magically reinvent itself into a contender in one season in the SEC West. Not to mention that the likelyhood of Malzahn leaving is closer and closer each day. Objectively speaking a 5-6 win team one year in the SEC can realistically hope to improve 2 to 3 games at the most the next. 8-4 or 9-3 is not a contender in the SEC West. It's 4th place. 2013 at best, if ALL of the recruits pan out, is what AU can hope for but even then that just brings them up to speed with BAMA, LSU, and Ark. Recruiting is another area where alot of AU fans are not thinking objectively. How many 4 and 5 star recruits actually pan out and can fill all the holes that AU have. Yet many AU fans are under the impression that every one they sign will be an actual contributer and will be SEC ready next year. I say 2013 will take some serious planet alignment for AU to be a legit contender but they should at least be able to tackle by then.

Just let them play the damn game. You have no insight better than anyone else's to the future of auburn football. You couch everything with a negative slant to auburn and it rarely offers good discussion rather turns to a pissing match. It's not a bad thing (lots of posters are like this), but you can't be taken as an objective poster so no need to try.

Your about the most ignorant poster I have ever seen on here. Go look at your record in 2007 and then in 2008. Oh wait, that might invalidate everything you just posted. Then again your alabama and its different. Your not a real fan since you don't even know your own record. Now go get back in your trailer and put your teeth in some cleaner idiot.

If we look at any team "objectively," it is very hard to predict how they will perform in 1-2 years. Auburn has been very successful recruiting and they have great coaches. I think most Auburn fans understood this would be a tough year. Having that reality sink in after the loss to Clemson is tougher to deal with than most fans expected. Auburn is a very resilient program and will make the necessary changes to be competitive. They might not be a contender this year but will be next year.

I agree 100%. The previous poster needed corrected as he obviously does not remember the turn around your program had. As I said before, not one Auburn fan has ever thought we would be uber competitive this year. We knew this was a rebuilding year. I had the wins at 7 and we can still get there and it will be a good year with what we have. I think the shock factor from Clemson's 600+ yards is what has caused more mumbling around the Auburn crew regarding Roof. This is the averages since Roof took over the DC position. It starts to paint the frustration. No improvement at all.

2009: 70 plays, 350 yards, 22.3 ppg
2010: 78 plays, 340 yards, 21.3 ppg
2011: 91 plays, 534 yards, 36.7 ppg

The SEC is not looking good either. The teams outside of LSU and Bama are way overrated. The conference looks for the immediate future to be just another conference. This is bad for LSU and Bama cause they will have to sweep the conference if teams like Boise and Oklahoma go undefeated.
